That's great, thanks! It really looks like it isn't as flat in the heel rocker as the other versions of that curve. That could turn out great for my picky hands :)
-
Nice! I'm looking forward to trying out that curve next fall. From the pictures` of it on icewarehouse, it looks like it might be a more continuously rockered blade on the heel than other X28's (Easton, Bauer, Warrior, etc.). Can you post a picture of the blade face of the TC4? I'm curious if that is the case or if it's just something funky they did in their photoshopping.

Damn. Yeah that's what's unfortunate about their custom pro patterns--their limitation to one side or the other is such a tease. They are way behind on updating their patterns page, though. For instance, they actually offer their BC28, BC71 (pro Malkin Right and Left...and I'm pretty sure they're still offering it, even though they initially said it would be available only for a limited time) and B_27 pro Kovalev left, but none of them feature on their patterns page. Maybe they actually have something for righties that comes close to the pro Anderson/P08.
-
Base's Pro Custom Anderson is a candidate then, if you're indeed a lefty. It might be a touch too open though.
-
Cannon, from Finland, has what looks to be an awfully close copy of the P08. http://en.cannonhockey.mycashflow.fi/product/134/cannon-pro-16-sr-blade-ovechkin-left-flex-90 http://en.cannonhockey.mycashflow.fi/product/93/cannon-b16-barkov-edition-sr-blade-ovechkinright-flex--80 Vanx, Denmark, has what looks like a more in-between P08, similar to the CrazyOvi or Kremlin. Both you can order without extra import taxes or fees. It's hard to tell exactly how close they are to P08, but you can always contact the companies directly to see if they'll provide better detailed shots of their patterns.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AWlWbBdX-uuM3QemJ0oSlFxSk4o6gR-yzTnJ55q20M8/pub I made some edits to reflect guys who were in VH for a while and now have gone to something else. 12 of the guys on the list aren't in VH anymore. I'm not sure about Donskoi. Did he ever wear VH? If we were to fully add KHL guys, there are a bunch just on Jokerit Helsinki.

Another with the original VH tendon guard and new toe cap.
-
But there's hardly anything to make white. Just the facing and tendon guard. That plus white graphics on the composite quarters could look good. Still, the toe box looks odd. Quite boxy indeed.
-
Very interesting. It'll be great to hear comparisons from people who try these after having had the various Van Horne built or inspired skates. I wonder what they'll cost. Edit: I wonder how they'll compare to the previous Tacks as well. It's hard to tell from the picture, but are they not as forward leaning as the previous line? I read the download and didn't see anything about the boot lean/pitch in there.

2016 CCM QuickLite Protective
flip12 replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2016 Product Catalogue Reviews
Can't wait to see the QuickLite shins in person. I've always loved the Jofa fit, but that area below the knee cap was too bulky on all but the 7K / 6070 style. It looks like the QuickLite might be just what I've been hoping for. -
Also Ian Cole of the Penguins.

I see! Thanks for the clarification. Still a pretty cool idea. -

I love the replacement tendon guard idea on the Supremes. It's a natural conclusion in line with the variable flex tongue inserts from way back. -
Looking for Warrior W11 Kremlin curve or similar

Cool. Can you post pictures of the TC1? I've been wondering what that pattern looks like. Is True keeping it available, though? I thought they were killing the TC1 and TC3 off with their next generation of sticks. -
Yet more Blues: Magnus Paajarvi Looks like he's still doing his unlaced top eyelet with taped tendon guard setup. It'll be interesting to see if Stastny makes the plunge. So many former Graf skaters have, and the Blues have more and more VH wearers almost by the week.
-
More Blues, Jaden Schwartz (and Brian Elliott).
-
Without having gotten any direct communication from VH, they have posted here and in their own materials that there is the option to have less stiffness, as well as the option to add a little bit with the integrated shot blocker. MC88 also said they could accommodate his request to stiffen just cuff area around the top eyelet. There seems to be some variability they can offer right off the bat.

Their gloves look weird though. -
Over here the Makos were actually pretty popular. I don't know if that's because there isn't as much pros-using-what visibility in Denmark in particular, or what exactly. The U15 team I've been coaching has two guys in them and pretty much every other team we've played has had at least two or three but even up to five or six skaters in Makos. It seemed like it was doing well here, especially for being in only its second year.
-
Brandon Kozun won the KHL fastest skater in his VHs, 13.58.
-
This is interesting for if VH were to reintroduce a stock offering: if that kept the velcro-attached tongue you'd still have the option of adjustable fit above the toes, so you wouldn't really even need the custom VH to make for the difference you feel there. The beauty with the extremely thermoformable boots is the adaptability of a stock skate. It's already essentially custom or at least semi-custom.
-
The idea behind thermoplastic-shell skates like the Makos or VH is you shouldn't really be able to get your foot in before baking. If you can get your foot in them at all before baking, it could actually be that they're too big, which you'll know for sure once they're baked.

You're right, MLX doesn't have a comfort edge. I should have looked again at my skates before posting. I think I had so many VH images in my head that I confused the two. Good to have that detail drawn to my attention!
-
If the top of the boot is softer than the MLX, then everything might just be perfect, maybe with the help of Vet88's recipe for homemade eyelet extenders. I can't wait to check out some VH in person then. I'll be in Toronto at the end of April, so I'll try to make it over the Zuperior shop in the MasterCard center. I think I'm confused about what the comfort edge is now, because I thought MLX had them. I thought it was just when the top edge of the boot had a cushioned wrap over the layered stack, that when finished normally reveals the sandwiched pieces like plywood. Edit: After looking again, I was wrong, there isn't really a comfort edge on MLX like there is on VH.
