Vokoun is easily more consistent than anyone the caps have in net and can be as good as anyone in the league when he gets on a roll. Given the number of RFAs on the blueline, and the lack of signed goaltenders, it's hard to believe that they will be able to put together a better squad next year. Gagne will come off the books after next year but Carter and Giroux are both RFA and Giroux will be in line for a big raise at that point.

1. Vokoun would make them a contender this year. 2. The Pronger contract is going to make it hard, if not impossible, to secure a goaltender via free agency in the near future. 3. Vokoun is also signed through next year, he would not have bee a rental. 4. Flyers need to address their goaltending at some point as Emery is UFA at the end of the season and they don't have anyone capable of being a number one in their system.

Given their depth at forward, and the fact that most of them are signed through at least one more year, they would have to consider any move.
