I never had an issue with my original holder. I'm only doing a dozen or so pair a month, but it has been working since day one.

Hits and blocked shots are some of the most skewed stats you will find. That's a big part of the reason the NHL teams refuse to use them in contract negotiations anymore. There are times that the stat sheet bear little, if any, resemblance to the actual game. The fact that Calgary has 200 at home and more than 400 on the road is a pretty good indicator as to how screwed up those numbers are. Sure they have played five more game on the road than at home, but that still doesn't explain the 200+ hit differential. That isn't to detract from the Penguins either. They do have a lot of grinders and agitators in the lineup.

I didn't mean the Vapor line was a bust, just the steel, which seemed to disappear pretty quickly. I guess they shaved so much weight off the boot that they no longer needed the perf'ed steel? Why not keep it and reduce weight even further? Seems odd to ditch it. Did it cost that much more to produce? Just seems odd to me. That steel was fairly expensive if I remember correctly. The steel was changed when the line was revamped after a couple years and the lightspeed holder was introduced.

Explanation please? Just curious why the cut outs helped retain the edge. I still love the look of those old Vapors, one of my favorite skate designs. They didn't fit my foot at all, but they were cool as hell. The coating helped retain the edge. That Vapor skate is absolutely a "turning point" product in the industry. Nothing about that skate is a bust.

it amazing what a little fear can do - they probably all realize that heads will roll soon if they dont start winning. i mean they just replaced the coach so next would be some of the players. they are fighting for their jobs - it BETTER get them motivated. And Gagne is coming back soon so there is a battle for ice time as well.

There are plenty of guys out there with more skill and less likely to hurt the team on the ice. It's not like we're talking about a Lucic-type of guy here, we're talking about a career fourth line guy.
-
We're supposed to get some ice and freezing rain tonight. The TV news says the worst time to be on the road will be around midnight, our game starts at 10:15. A bunch of guys have bagged the game and it's hard to fight the temptation to skate when we're short handed. I would give just about anything to be feeling better right now.

With guys like Cote, Asham and Lappy, it's not like they're lacking in toughness without him.
-
One of the guys on my team said he was watching a game the other night and they were talking about it. He told his wife that he had been skating on it for almost a year and she didn't believe him.

What was the deal with doing the francophone legends introductions only in French? The two language thing only applies to the rest of Canada.

Actually, I don't hate the Flyers. They just have a lot of dirty players on their roster and I abhor dirty players. I wouldn't turn my back on a nutjob like Carcillo when he was pissed off, you have no idea what he's going to do. It was a cheap shot that is utterly indefensible.
-
If that's what the league told him, it's further proof that Colin Campbell needs to be replaced. Neither of those cross checks warrant suspension, even if it was Avery that was hitting someone. You are seriously misguided if you think Bradley "wanted" to fight. He had been cross checked a couple times and already been punched once with Carcillo getting ready to hit him again. Bradley attempts to get some separation in order to drop his gloves and protect himself but Carcillo is already hanging on with his left hand while his right hand is ready to throw a bomb and pops Bradley before he can raise his hands 18".

That's the same video from the Pens broadcast that has been posted two or three times now and the point of contact is still vague. It really looks like shoulder contact on those clips. Cooke's whole body goes flying, something uncommon for a head shot. I'm not saying that this is not a head shot, just that there has not yet been a video or clip that shows that the initial point of contact was to the head.
-
I'm not saying it was a clean or legit hit, I agree with what you say about it obviously being payback and a hit away from the puck. Unfortunately there just isn't a good view of the hit that can confirm the hit one way or another.

Just another one of the NHL's ridiculous double standards. I think Carcillo is a bonehead and takes stupid penalties but how can you award 29 minutes in penalties and a 4 game suspension because another player is slow getting his gloves off? Sure Carcillo was really quick to hit him but it's a fight and it's very clear Bradley threw his gloves off to fight. It's not like Carcillo jumped him from behind, he was just faster to the punch. Pun intended :) Also how do you get 5 for fighting when the other player gets nothing? That's redicolus. Can't be a fight if someone else doesn't engage you. The 29 minutes was absolutely correct, surprised that the NHL got it right. Carcillo had his gloves off and even punched Bradley once before Bradley tried to drop his gloves. Bradley did not want to fight and and Carcillo and only did so because Carcillo had already hit him once and was obviously going to do it again. Carcillo hit him again, and knocked him out, before the gloves were even clear of his hands. As for getting a fight when the other guy gets nothing, it was the correct call. Carcillo threw punches, Bradley did not.

Got any les paul style necks? Nope, only bolt on and I'm not taking my '76 goldtop apart.

I have yet to see an angle that shows direct head contact. Despite rain man and his "to the head, to the head, definitely to the head" comments, there is no definitive angle that I've seen so far. As I've said before, if it was a headshot, Keith should be suspended. I just haven't seen an angle that shows the point of contact.
-
But that was in the playoffs... I was calling for a long suspension on that one too
-
Cha..you wont believe this: The NHL has suspended Flyers forward Dan Carcillo four games for his role in a fight that earned him a whopping 29 penalty minutes and a game misconduct :o Fixed. And thank God Should have been at least 10 games, but it's a start. The sad thing is he actually made a nice play early in the game, led to their first goal if I remember correctly.

For those too lazy to type in "Carcillo Bradley" on youtube.

Next game will be in Toronto, over the summer. Vancouver is a possibility somewhere down the road.
-
Then tuck it against the wall under the bench. If you have an oversize bag in a small room, have a little courtesy.

Saw the hit on NHL on the fly but it wasn't a good angle. If the initial point of contact was to the head, he should be suspended. Even though it was against Cooke.
