Whats the deal with the really tall Sherwood?
-
Most of them the last few years had a "synergy" tag. Now they have an E-pro tag, but there is a huge difference between the pro caliber 4 roll and the e-pro. If they have the bio-dri liner, they are NHL caliber, if they don't they are E-pros

What does it say on the Kopecky Missions? Is it his nicknae or something?

Got my paycheck today and it was considerably larger than what I had expected, so after taking care of the last few Christmas presents I picked up an AK27 shaft and blade combo, pretty excited about it. Only problem was I picked up the stick 2 hours after I got off the ice from a sticks and pucks session with my littlle brothers, it would have been nice to use it today.

Anything for you, mack.

They look awsome what size are they? seems like a 13.5" or a 14" with shortish fingers.

Scheduled to work from 7-3:30 on the first, which means I'll miss the Classic and tons of good football. Tried to trade hours with several coworkers, and no one wantes the 7 am start because they want time to nurse their hangovers. Awesome. (starting at 7 am also means I get to go to a party, barely get started drinking, and then catch a cab back so I can get to sleep by 1:00 am at the latest. )

Nice find, how much were they? Thats the best part. I paid $65 for them, plus $10 shipping. I put a minimum bid in 5 days before the auction ended just to see where they would end up, and no one topped it. I couldn't believe it, I expected them to go for at least $110. Was very close to hopping on those a few weeks back on ebay. They look even better with your photo than the one that was up. I'm regretting not trying to get them. Good find! Yeah, the photo he put on the auction had me a little nervous, it looked terrible. they're in great shape though, very clean.

MIA made RBK Pro Stock Coyotes gloves. I love the red with the white cuff, been looking for the right pair for a while, and these are it. Fingers are just a tad short, but I'll have to get them on the ice to figure out if it's a problem.

I hope you have better success than he did with them. Other than a sweet goal against Edmonton, he was one of the most useless players on the Wings, used to drive me crazy.

While your critique of the press isn't necessarily off base for a lot of celebs, I think it is in this case. Chris had numerous run-ins with the law, including: marijuana possession, dui, weapons charges, assault... and all of those were SEPARATE incidents. I think in this case his reputation is 95% his own doing. Regardless though, he appeared to be making changes in his personal life and it's sad that he has passed. Unfortunately it looks like in his last act, he reverted to his old self, in that he didn't take a moment to think things through. I realize he created his reputation. My point is, guys like Jim Rome or Woody Paige hammerred this guy back when he was getting in trouble, and now they say things like how controversial about him, in a very vague way without ever saying that he personally was one of the guys who layed into him. You won't see a guy come out and say "I was a huge critic of Chris Henry, I ranted about him often saying he was a bad example and he was a detriment to the league." If you didn't like someone when he was alive, you should be willing to say the same when he's dead Exactly. Like how all of a sudden Michael Jackson's reputation is like Elvis, not OJ.

I know how you feel, my new gloves got deliverred today while I'm visiting my parents for a couple of days. Really excited for them to sit in the mailbox in 25 degree weather for two days.

Yeah, but not quite sure how I feel about giving up Austin Jackson though. Jackson's ceiling is probably Granderson with less power, so might as well pick up Granderson. Well I came here to say my finals are over, but you guys had to remind me of the worst news I got all week. Terrible deal by Dombrowski, who I've defended from the beginning but who in the last year has proven to me that hes not a good GM at all, far too trigger happy and antsy. Moving on...Finals are over, have a month to recuperate, plus checked out a new barber up at school who did a great job, and is the only person up here that I've seen who uses the hot shaving cream and a straight razor. Really glad I have a good barber to go too now instead of those stupid family places.

I bet those are all the rage in the NHL to re-brand sticks

Same here, now just hoping for a solid cold snap to freeze the local pond.

Why would a warranty cover this? It broke 10" from the top. The guy that fell on it weights at leat 300lbs!. I can't play with a wood stick, they are too short for me. I need at last a 62" stick as I'm 6'5". Oh yeah, this is the venting thread, show some support :D :P i agree, even during game play, if the stick breaks due to your stupidity you should offer to replace it, or reimburse him for it. Thats just common decency, I couldn't imagine breaking a guys stick on the bench, shrugging and going "sucks to be you." At the very least offer to pay for SRS or a plug or something.

If it is as you described a five and game for a check from behind would be an appropriate penalty, but a lot of refs are unlikely to call a penalty like that, especially in a close game or one with playoff implications. Yea, I kind of figured that was his thought. They didn't call much of anything last night and the game got pretty chippy at the end. I played the game before his with the same refs, those guys were especially timid last night, 0 penalty minutes in a very chippy game last night, the only thing they call is icing and off sides. Good to bring out your best for the playoffs

I'll agree with you on finals, mine do not start until the 14th, but they last the entire week. Hooray for lazy professors that don't want to get out of bed before 11am and schedule their final for 3:30pm on Friday the 18th. I'm sure all 30 of us really want to be on campus until it closes Friday evening... gotta love the extra charges that come for having to stay the extra night on campus too. your professors schedule finals? here at the school i go to there is a set schedule for all the finals. We cant blame a teacher for having a late friday final, its just how the schedule works. im glad i only go to that wed of finals week Yeah, CMU does it the same way. Classes that meat at X time will have a final at X time, based on this grid you can find online.

Texas can beat Florida and could kill Alabama. Granted, it would be awesome if TCU and Boise State had a chance in hell at a real title shot...but of course we rate Football like we do figure skating. Awesome huh?
-
Agreed...makes me sad that CMU doesn't have a real hockey team, but we keep around a basketball team that averages just over 1,000 fans per game. Lake Superior state gets more than that for hockey and they have 3,000 students!

wow. thats one for the record books. But a lions hat is WAY better than a yankkes jacket, just saying. :P

Our team, sitting at 1-6-2 on the year, matched up against the hated State Farm team, who were 7-0-2 coming in. they've crushed us twice all ready. We both came in shorthanded, 6 skaters each, (we have 11 guys, they have 13) but we played great, winning 5-0. One guy had his first hat trick, I fed a guy up front for his first goal of the year, and picked up another assist, and we were able to help our goalie get his first shutout of the year. yesterday was also the first time we went out to the bar as a team to celebrate the win, at least the first since I turned 21 two weeks ago. Surely a tradition I will enjoy in the future. B)
