Or whatever it would be called. As for hockechamp14, they do it all the time. Companies are bought, sold, split etc... 2 different companies with 1 parent Company, best of both worlds.

Okay...made some calls...

adidas is looking to get into the sport.  They are looking at buying either Easton or TPS.

Interesting stuff...

Are louisville's TPS (hockey) and TPX (baseball) different companies? If addidas bought TPS, would they also be buying louisville as a whole?

Does anyone think hockey may actually hit a boom period when the NHL comes back? All buisness has up and downs, just some ups are higher and some lows are lower (black tuesday!)...

They are both divisions of Hillerich and Bradsby.

I think Adidas kinda hinted about hockey in oone of their magazine ads a while back. They had this guy skating around on a rink for some reason. And I thought to myself hmp this is kinda weird.

intersting and UGLY... addidas has been rumored to get into hockey for quite soem time now. im sorry to say, but i see no good in the hockey industry being run by the shoe companies. their ideas and philosophies just don't work in the hockey industry!

Prenny, I disagree. Adidas is known to run their divisions like seperate division. They ultilize cross branding only where it makes sense. They don't go around slapping their logo whereever they feel it fits. Taylor Made and Salomon are clear evidence to that.

However, they could do hockey differently what other shoe brands have done. Only time will tell.

They made these years ago. There is one inside of the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto with Gretzky's name on it.

murph, im more so talking about shoe companies marketing, and product changes. if i had to pick one of the major shoe companies that i like best it would be addidas. i just would prefer to see hockey people and companies start, buy, or run hockey companies.

Interesting claim. Maybe next time they'll get their employees to sign a non-compete agreement.

What trade secrets! Make something cheap in Mexico, design it to last 31 days and sell it for lots of money. Heck, everyone knows that already. :-)

Interesting claim. Maybe next time they'll get their employees to sign a non-compete agreement.

i don't think it would be enforceable. they'd basically have to say you couldn't do anything hockey-related in north america, which is so broad that it would deprive the guy of his livelihood. no court would uphold that.

besides, the problem would seem to be that he gave away the secrets while he still worked at easton. even if he had a non-compete agreement, it wouldn't come into effect because he technically wasn't competing.

on the other hand, i'm splitting hairs. but it's 3:15 in the morning, i've played two games tonight. mind's not thinking straight.

big picture: i think competition is good, but like several people have said: our walls are already packed with stuff.

You're right, if the guy was still working there then they may have a case, depending what he "stole".

No-compete agreements are very smart. I signed a simple one years ago when I was trained to sharpen skates. No one needs a new competitor, and certainly no one want to breed one.
