Although Mike (The Reel Deal) Sgroi is a bad ass! If you have never seen him fight, it is hilarious!! It is like old time hockey, he stands there with his fist back winding and winding waiting for his shot.

If he is able to find enough pay-per-view subscribers for this, then that is a sad litmus test reading on our society's morals. I am hoping that he is being overly optimistic about the number of people who would be interested in this.

Maybe the ratings will be high initially because of the novelty, but I hope that wears off.

If it is the same guy, and I am sure it is, He played up here with the UHL Rockford Icehogs when I had season tickets. Most entertaining fighter I have ever seen. I could be mistaken, but not that many people have that last name.

He's a crazy mofo. He was on the juice the first year I met him, came back the next year substantially smaller.

Guy trained for UFC - does Brazilian Jujitsu. He fights in Toughman competitions down here in the offseason - he was like 90-1 last time I heard.

He's a pretty good skater, shoots well, but dumb as a brick when it comes to hockey sense.

This was the top story in the local newspaper this morning. Too bad the PG Cougars ( WHL ) training camp is three days right before this so they can't hold their camp there as usual. By the way, CN Centre is the new name of the building. Prince George Multiplex used to be its name up until a couple months ago.

John craighead used to play for my team Nottingham panthers but left 1/2 way throught the season 04/05 he had mumps pretty bad too and lost 2 stone so i didnt expect this from him.

He was tough though could take any one in the elite league in the UK but i don't know of his current fittness though he seems to think he's ok

Does anybody have details of the fight he had with brashear as it sounds really funny or just who won?

The home run derby doesn't have a negative impact? How about the underlying connotations to steroids, corked bats, juiced balls?

This hockey enforcer thing won't have one lick of impact on how hockey is viewed. Why? Because there isn't one recognizable name to the fringe hockey fan. Now, if past and present names were involved, then you might make a case, otherwise, it is just a sideshow event that won't do anything, mainly because there is barely a media mention of it. Heck, the only reason anyone in this area even knows it is going on is because LB is taking part.

Darryl Wolski is a god damn dirtbag. (Come on, just look at him!) He was talking on TSN after the thing happened about "There's some people in my backyard who didn't think this was gonna happen and I told them I'd give em a boot to the balls. So I'm gonna go home and give these people a boot to the balls", and I just thought it was a great indicator of what a classless tool he is. Just my 2 cents :P

I'm glad Sgroi was over there fighting otherwise we would have to played against him in our adult league. We would have got destroyed if he was there but we ended up winning.
