I'd hate to see Crosby go to a city that won't appreciate his skills and potential so I'd love for him to be drafted by any Canadian team.

I would love for him to go to Montreal but...that's just my opinion

i bet kovy_ribs would love that.

Id like to see him go to boston. him and bergron would tear it up IMO.

The pressure on him in some of the Canadian markets would be incredible. The worst thing that could happen is to end up in Edmonton. More comparisons to Wayne, a lot of media pressure and a team that will not spend near the cap to put talent around him.

I would want him to be with a young team on the rise. Sharks? Maybe Panthers? Canadiens? Bruins?

what about the wild. him and gaborik would be a good line.

That would be one of the worst 3 or 4 places he could end up. A team that doesn't believe in offensive hockey, has little talent to surround him and won't pursue free agents. If the Wild win the draft lottery, the NHL should have a new drawing.

You beat me to it. It would be a shame if he went to the Wild and joined Lemaire's defensive cult.

To tie up two of the sub-threads, perhaps having a more level playing field salary-wise would allow the Wild to afford better players so it can compete without trapping all the time. If obstruction really is curbed, the Wild might have to change its style to keep winning. Lemaire would have to go, though.

(It's nice to talk like sports fans again.)

how about crosby, nash and zherdev on the same line?

domination for years to come

If Crosby becomes a Blue Jacket, perhaps spread Crosby, Zherdev, and Nash over 2 lines, like the way Colorado keeps Sakic and Forsberg on different lines?

Whoever gets him should have or plan to get one of those rare, good puck-rushing defensemen.

even with a low cap of 20million some teams will spend the full 39million, det, tor, col, nyr to name a few.

has anyone heard if their clubs will be dropping ticket prices next season? if they don't it could spell real trouble for some clubs. and the owners just get to make back some of the money they lost last year.

I think New York would be the worst place for him. God forbid.

Worst case scenario, he gets traded for a bag of pucks and turns into the best player of all time. Best case scenario, he leads the Rangers to the cup and people care about hockey again...and then the devils win with a trap and no one cares.

I think its the exact opposite. Not only could he turn their organization around, they're a big market team who doesn't mind spending money on free agents. I think the Rangers are one of the best teams for him.

The way I look at it, is it's a gamble too predict how he'd do there. He could either be the next big thing, or be like every other 'great' player that New York traded for and not produce. And judging by whats happened with Jagr, Holik, and Bure, I just don't see it suiting for him. But Crosby's face adversity and I'm sure he'd produce, just would he be brought up the right way?

Okay so let me get this straight.

Hockey's back, which is good. As a Toronto fan. Our tickets will stay high, we won't get to spend our money, we haven't won a cup is almost 40 years, but are deemed to "good" to get even 2 Balls in the draft lottery. 2 teams that made the finals the past 2 years have better oppurtunities than us. Our team has been dubbed as "possibly playoff bound" under the new CBA. We'll be paying smaller market teams no matter where we finish because we'll always be a top profit team..... but it's fair for all?

EAZY'S PISSED!!!

PS - Do coaches salary's count against the cap?
