What number do you wear

Recommended Posts

8, 3, or 9. 8 Because I don't know it was given to me a few times and I grew to live with it. 3 Because March. And 9 because I have a love afair / man crush on Paul Kariya.

My first # was 46 when I played squirts/peewees.

Changed to #54 when I played bantam.

Changed to #6 in highschool (big Stan Musial fan)

Wore #38 in a beer league.

Now wear #28 (steve duschene fan)

It was an accident that I always had different numbers for every team I've been on. But now that I'm older, I like that, and I never want to have the same number as I've worn before whenever I switch teams. . . .

65... as homage to my fiancee, who has Cystic Fibrosis. (Small children sometimes have difficulty pronouncing their illness, and refer to it as "65 roses".. )

Mine is usually 2 cause I like my name called first. I think the funniest number story is my teammates which is number 7 cause it was the girl he liked in the 4th grade's cubbie number.

I wear 55 now...used to wear 13 when our team would get a pre-numbered set of jerseys...now that we get our choice of number, too many people want 13 on my team so I picked something that would be good for a defenseman, fills up a XXL Jersey and reminds me of my favorite minor pro defenseman Brad Prefontaine.

#12, first year of roller hockey last year, didn't pick a number when they ordered jerseys, first game/practice, just picked a jersey from the box and next game found out it belongs to another player that wasn't there first day, and it stuck.

Mens large fits huge on me(5'3"), always had to hem at least 5+ inches in the waist, and a couple of inches in the sleeves, same goes this year for first year ice :D

Always have worn 8, except one year when I was about 10 I got stuck with 14 because of jersey sizes. I was upset at the start and then realized my favorite Jr. B player in my hometown wore 14...(once again, I was 10..)

When I started playing again (after quiting hockey at age 12) I choose to wear #33 because the night before my first game I met Eric Cairns in Belfast. I had a bit of a chat with him and then gave him a lift back to his hotel. With me being a big Islanders fan I thought it would be a nice way to remember that night.

I wore #33 for two years before switching to #12 as the goalie for my new team wore #33 and I have worn it ever since. I choose 12 because that was the age that I stopped playing junior hockey at and also my house is #15 which looks a bit like #12.

I've also worn #19 for a few ice hockey games.

I just wear whatever # is in the box that they give us. Last spring #12 this fall it's #15. Usually they are all XXL, but this year they mixed it up. 13,14, and 15 were XXL.

Used to wear #4 in men's league for Orr. Then I realized I'm not worthy and switched to #2 since I'm not even half as good. :D
