The NHL should really release one like the MLB apps. Of course you have to pay for the app but it still gets you information on every game and they already do instant information on their current website.

I got Remote for my touch and I can't get it to work. Is it an iPhone exclusive app?

No you can use it on the touch. do you have it on the same wifi connection as your using itunes on? have you paired it with your computer itunes?

oh my I love this and the apps.

How many of the new iPhone Apps work on iPod Touch...?

theres actually a couple hundred that will work that i know of. most of them should as long as you have the 2.0 firmware

Last time I plugged in my iPod (Thurs night I think) it said I was up to date.....I can't remember what version...but I know it isn't 2.0

you will have to purchase the 2.0 firmware to take advantage of those.

Yeah, I saw that this morning when i plugged it in. Don't know if I'd make use of enough of the new stuff to warrant the $10.00...

It's good to know I can bust out a razor blade, and chop up a few rails on my iPod Touch.

Isn't it supposed to be some sort of scratch resistant optical-grade glass on the Touch/iPhone?

I've always heard they scratch easy....and the smudges bug me...I've still got the plastic film that was on it when I bought it, like an old Italian ladies couch *L*

Wanna buy Invisible Shield....just haven't gotten around to it.

I've had just about every gen of iPod, and with the white acrylic- had learned to put a screen shield on all my Apple products. I had a plastic Power Support Crystal Film on my iPhone the week I got it last summer. Friday when I got my 3G I bought another 2 pack, so my iPhone stays scratch free. I don't think it would kill them to put one on the device prior to selling...

I haven't had a case in ages other than some queer iSock crap my sister gave me and mine survived drops and my daughter playing with it.

I'm waiting for the AT&T stores here to get their re-stock in as both here are sold-out of both models. But I've been reading on-line what people think of their 3G iPhone so far and I'm reading that a lot of people are having problems after the upgrade to 2.0. I was just wondering if anyone on here that has one is having the same problem.

The problem that I guess worries me the most is the keyboard lag as I text a lot during the day so that's one thing I need to be pretty good.

Just kind of wondering what people are thinking of theirs so far even though you've only had it for 3 days.

Knock on wood I've had no problems with mine other than a little hiccup with the sim they gave me. I couldn't get a signal and just swapped my old sim in there and it's worked right away. My sister had hers stuck in iTunes as she tried to activate it but that's the only problem I've heard from anyone I know. My biggest problem, which isn't even a problem really, is that I still haven't run the battery dead after getting it Friday. I've watched movies, surfed around, done whatever I could and I still have about 1/4 of a battery going.

I bought about 4 cases for mine, but never used them. The only thing I have on mine, and had on the 1st gen was a plastic screen shield.

I've had a few issues with my 3G.. nothing major, just a lag here & there. Good luck running the battery dead.... I watched about 15 10 minute + clips on youtube last night trying to drain it so I could get in a good charge overnight. It still didn't run all the way down. I got it to 10%... but I was too damn tired.

That's good to hear. Thanks guys.

The only other thing I've read that seemed semi-serious was the battery draining really fast but since it seems like you guys are getting good battery life, that's reassuring.

I just think people don't condition their batteries and complain about every little thing. Looks like this is going to be a solid investment as my phone has seen its better days and I'm sick of Verizon.

Naturally I love the phone saber as well, but the light app saved the day trying to work thru people's tents on the way out of a festival.

I used an iPod sock with my 1st gen and it looks like it is brand new still. Working just as good for my 3G now.

I've had no problems so far, other than activation problems when the servers were down. I ran the battery dead after my first full charge...and have had no problems thus far. Battery life is comparable to my first gen for now.

Saber app is cool. Just cant wait for a real GPS app.

Just wondering, talked to AT&T today and they have no idea when they are getting 3G service here so I don't feel like getting the 3G iPhone and having to pay $10 extra a month for something I can't use.

Any of you new 3G owners wanting/willing/looking to sell your first generation 8GB or 16GB iPhones? If so could you shoot me over a PM.

To be honest with you, the 3G reception on mine for phonecalls (as I can't speak for others) sucks.... I go into settings, and shut the 3G off, and I have no reception issues during calls. So basically, I just ended up with a nice, black iPhone because I have to keep 3G off most of the time. I guess the iPhone will pick up 3G signal first, regardless of signal strength... so if I'm getting 1 bar of 3G, and full service Edge... it'll grab 3G. Apple needs to fix that shit.

My fiancee has a Samsung BlackJack 2, and gets perfect 3G reception in our house. I'm lucky if I make it through a call.

I've been reading/hearing a lot about that as well. I was just told by a lot of people if I could find a first gen. for a good price and in good condition it would be better to go that route. So I was seeing if I could find one before I thought about going another route, such as maybe a Nokia N95 8GB or something like that.

Thanks for the advice and information though, it just sucks how AT&T charges someone more money for something that doesn't even work.

I sold my 1st gen on eBay with a BIN price in 25 minutes.... they move quick, and for decent money. Or else I'd be using it instead of this one now. I'm not sure if I should make a Genius Bar appointment tomorrow, or "wait & see" considering I have 14 days. If it's a network issue (which I doubt, again referencing my fiancee's AT&T 3G non-iPhone working great)- I'm content flipping off the 3G for a few days, but if I have a defective handset - I want a new one.

Any other iPhone 3G users experiencing reception problems?

Any other iPhone 3G users experiencing reception problems?

I've actually had nothing but improved reception from my 1st gen. 3G is intermittent in my immediate area but anywhere i go 3 miles from my house 3G is available and has been phenomenal. I've gotten spotty reception maybe once or twice...but after i restarted it, it was fine.

EDIT: But now that i think about it...i do have one small qualm with the new phone. My push email doesn't seem to be pushing nearly as well as it used to...but that may not be the phone, just all the new accounts stressing the servers i guess. we'll see.

I'm having a bitch getting any wifi out and about that I remember picking right up with my first gen. I can't wait for edge to get here because otherwise it's going to keep sucking when I try to get something whilst out.

So all you have in your neck of the woods is 3G, and whatever WiFi you can grab? I'd hope your 3G service is doing a lot better than mine...

No, not even 3G because it's not up here yet. It won't be here till end of the year (yeah right) so it's whatever wifi I can grab. At my house that's not a problem but other than for using remote, I don't need to use my iPhone at home so that's almost pointless. Work campus has theirs locked and some free/unlocked ones give me an "unable to access" message or some crap.
