New RBK jerseys & pants

Recommended Posts

In case you dont know all of the echl has to buy ccm/rbk gear. Sticks and helmets only i think, but maybe more.  Do you honestly care what the players wear.  As long as it does not hold a player from playing their best i don't really care

So if you played your entire career in Bauer or easton and you got to the NHL and they told you you had to wear all RBK stuff you would be fine with that.....knowing for example someone like me can't use there skates and hate there sticks. so I would have to give up skates I have wore for years and a stick I learned with.....I don't care what they use but I know how I would feel.

Now THAT puts me off playing in the pro's....

I don't know if your serious but im sure if any of us would be in the AHL looking into the NHL we would all be upset over that.

The ECHL didn't have to buy RBK/CCM. They chose to sign an equipment contract. They could have chosen NBH or Mission, or any other hockey company, but they felt that RBK/CCM gave them the best deal. It's only a monopoly if you don't have a choice.

Teams have the choice, players don't. That makes a difference.

anyone remember why jerseys were once called sweaters?

and how many of you use OPS sticks?

if there is a change, it won't be the first time.

most significant changes seem strange and terrible at first.

I just hope the changes are really based on performace and not marketing.

With the rivalry between Nike and Rbk, I think Rbk wants to win back the general audience after Nike unveiled their "Nike Swift" jerseys. The guy that runs Rbk Hockey probably thought "If Nike are releasing next generation jerseys in the Olympics, we'll out-do them by making OUR own next generation jersey... for the NHL! Muahahaha!"

Evil Rbk and Nike.... Bring back BAUER, Jofa + KOHO!

Actually no, because RBK tight-fit jerseys were in the works before the Swift jerseys.

i don't understand why jersey's need to be tighter to reduce grabbing. i barely see any grabbing at all, except for holding calls on defensemen when it's one on one, but that's at most once per game. what is reebok trying to accomplish with tighter jerseys? if it's making players more agile and better protected, how would something tighter fitting help?. the pads that players wear are already tight to their body, and most injuries are a result of an awkward move that a player makes that a tighter jersey/pants cannot prevent.

These are hideous. I can see jerseys becoming a little tighter over time, but this is too much, too fast. Then again, I will save a lot of money if I stop buying pro jerseys.

rbk gonna become like a monopoly now

No,do you know what a Monopoly is?Just becuase they want new Jerseys in the NHL doesnt make them a Monopoly. If they took over in every single sport like NIke then they would be a Monopoly.

Thats not a monopoly. It would have to be the only thing you could buy.

I wonder how the players will feel about everyone having to wear something that resembles a girdle I assume. I wear suspenders on my pants... I would be pissed if I was pressed into wearing a different kind of pants.

The Swift jerseys/socks I thought looked really good, but I'll hold back my judgement on the RBKs until I see them in action.

for anyone curious, I was reading the new SI, and it looks like most of the countries are using the swift jerseys. Apparently sweden isn't though. They had a picture of top stars from the major 8 countries, and Forsberg was the only guy without a nike swift sweater on. It could be they couldn't get ahold of one, or sweden decided not to use the swift technology though.

That will eventually affect the other facets of the sport as well. I personally dont want to see the Tackla's and Eagle's of our sport being driven to extinction because of one large company changing the equipment evolution for pure profit.
