NBH ONE90 Initial Thoughts

is there SO "BIG" difference between XXX vapor and one90??? i have now XXX vapor and i like to know will that over hyped new skate (one90) make me skate "little" faster... i have money now, and i can buy them when they arrive in my local hockey shop, but i think i should save the money and buy new skate on season 07-08 because my XXX vapors are still pretty good condition. and i have heard and read about that XXX and one90 are different fitting, and i like the way that my XXX fits. i have always loved Bauers skates i have tried couple of times CCM and RBK's skates but i doesn't like them at all. XXX skate fits me exactly that i want them... but will the one90 gain me little extra speed... some kind of turbo... :P

(my english sucks but try to understand what i'm writing...)

I'm in the same boat as Awdcft (w/ better English though  ). I am looking for new skates but can't decide if I want the XXX or if I should bite the bullet and go w/ the One90s. Is there really that much of a difference in the two performace-wise?

I agree with JR 100%. A few shop guys tried them on last night. One guy knew right away that the skate fit him great while the other guy had a few fit "issues" in different areas. He thought the best fit for him would be 2 different sizes. Also, sizing for some guys was a bit different than what they expected. So, buy them at your LHS and you will get the best fit. Buy them online and be sure to have the 800 # for customer service ready if you have fit problems.

My experience was I knew right away when I had the right size out of the box. Fit was awesome and baking just enhanced the fit.

Please don't ask me what size you should get based on this, that, or the other thing. Support your LHS!!

Do you guys think its too much to have one90 skates in a high school league?

If you really like the skates and have the cash to buy them then go for it, you could play anywhere from rec to travel hockey and it wouldn't matter.

To me gear shouldn't be chosen in terms of the level you play or your talent but mainly on how you feel with that gear and if you have the money to invest in that gear. Why would you deprive yourself of good skates if you can afford them. If you think that the gear is worth it and that it fits you right to the point that you've never felt that confortable in your gear, go for it.

Hey guys ! I am looking into buying these skates. No one in my area has these in a size below 7 I have no clue why ! Anyways I am skating in Vapor XXX's right now size 6.5 D, I am a size 6 D in RBK's/CCMs. Anyways I was wondering what size you would recommend, from people I have asked more have said that the skates run a little big, some say they fit the same. I will go with the opinion of experts. And yes I would support my local hockey shop but they don't have the size, plus with the exchange rate I am pretty sure I'd rather buy from the States. Any helps is appreciated.

If your not going to be using them enough to break them in or anything, it is not worth it..

Perhaps you should read my review, or just read on here. We have been comparing this skate to the 8090 since the first time we've heard about the skate.

JR you added a 3mm lifts which equate to a 7/64 lean.

What is the lean on a graf skates?

Do the blades come in a 11 like the grafs?

I love the angle of my grafs but have some issues with boot and my lhs does not do custum radii.

thanks

JR, A couple of question for you.

How have the One90's been holding up for you? Since reading your review I have finally decided to get a pair of these. I am coming off of Graf 705's. and from what I have read I will need a lift in the heel for that forward position that I am use to. Correct? My other question is; when I bake these should I do it with the Superfeet insoles in or out? I have always worn these insoles.

Thanks in advance

A2

They have been fine. You can either do a lift or a grind - I suggest a 2mm lift to get you to a +1 setting - there isn't much steel on that skate.

Yeah, bake wiht Superfeet.
