Considering Tuck + on my Vector Pros

Recommended Posts

Nope, The e-blades have that whole thing going on with the back of the chassis that is more "contoured" to the sole...if that makes any sense at all...or maybe Im completely wrong.

Do the E-blades and the prolite holders bolt patterns match?

I've been wondering the same thing. More comments on this would be appreciated!

I have done it on a few of mine, including the 9K and the Vector Pro. It is not a hard job, but takes a while because only 2 or 3 holes are actually alligned (usually front two and if lucky one hole in the back). The rest of the holes require drilling.

The E-pro older is quite different from the TUUK. On the back of the holder, the e-pro has a small lip on it to provide some support. The Tuuk does not have it, so it doesn't go as far back on the skate as the E-pro. I don't personally think it makes a difference: the TUUK is my favorite blade holder, and I am still thinking about puting TUUKs on my Pro Tacks.

Any LHS with a good skate person can do the job without issues. The Vector would look great with a TUUK. If it is what you like I say go for it....and send pics!

I would not recommend it. Played in Bauers all my life. Switch to E-Pro that came with Vector 10s was very easy. The only thing I would consider changing (maybe) is the scalloped steel. Solid seems to be more reliable.

I'm still wondering what the best replacement(easiest) for my prolite holders. Anyone? I'm wanting either lightspeeds or custom+ but open to recommendations.

I used to use custom+ on all my skates but now I prefer the Pitch.

The easiest or the right holder for the skate?

There all going to have to be redrilled. The E-Holder would be the best fit on the there and the Cusom + Second best fit

That's exactly what I wanted to know. I want to limit the number of holes they put in my skates because I'm a big guy(6'1 235) and I don't need to lose the structural integrity.

I'd really like to try out the pitch 3 but it's not like I can try a pitch 3 then go to a custom + and then an e-holder, my skate would look like swiss cheese! Personally, I'd love a holder that a puck wouldn't fit through, so I'm thinking a custom+

i just got a pair of tacks recently and have not skated on them yet. I'm just wondering if there is a huge difference between a tuuk holder(its what i'm skating on now) and a e-blade holder, if so, what are the differences?

Well, since I needed new steel anyway, I went ahead and did the swap from E-Pro to Custom + on my Vector Pros. Thanks to No Icing for doing the same day swap out. Outside of a little tweaking to the profile, I have to say, 3 games in, that I am glad I did the switch and I kind of wish I had done it sooner.

for those of you who do skate work: i used to have a pair of graf g3's. i had my lhs put ls2's on them. i noticed that the holes for the ls2 holders were all touching the holes from the cobra. sort of like an eight shape "8". wouldn't this really weaken the skate? i was kind of pissed when i saw it. didn't matter anyways because i ended up ebaying the skates.

A good qualified local hockey shop can put on just about any blade holder with reasonable ease onto any make of popular brand of skate. Just be sure it's the holder and blade you want before doing it.
