CAPS Practice Pictures

Recommended Posts

I dont know about you guys, but I would hate all those people watching me practice. I am more relaxed when a bunch of people arnt watching me.

Most players at that level love to showboat for a crowd. Especially someone like Ovechkin....

Interviewer: "Who is your favourite player in the NHL right now?

Ovy: "Right now?....Me!"

Me personally, Im happy just when my parent's can be F'd coming to see their 23 yo son play in a National tourny....

I'm betting the caps PR department or Alex's agent suggest he take it off so people can see his face.

What about Rick Nash? Doesn't he use a tinted visor? I think he either likes the clear one better. Maybe for poorer lit arenas. Or his sponsors suggested that he wear it to better see his face. I'd say it's likely that the first is true.

Tinted but not mirrored. Nash and Zherev was sporting a tinted one as well as another CBJ, Balastik...and Fedorov too.

Ovechkin is the only player in the NHL who uses one. Don't think anyone mistaken him as someone else.

That has nothing to do with it, it's his face.

If I was a marketing person, I'd rather sell the image of a person's face than someone who you can't really make much out of because of a mirrored visor.

Ovechkin is also the only number 8 on the capitals, obviously he won't be mistaken for someone else.

I thought Sid the Kid was the poster boy for RbK and Ovechkin with CCM? What's up with the RbK helmet and clear Itech visor?

Not that big a deal since they're both owned by the same company

I know that Olie Kolzig is wearing RBK pads instead of CCM now too. I have pics of them in my caps training camp thread in the NHL section here.

I still think Max Daigneault's pads are the nicest ever, all white Sherwoods with black writing.

Absolutely georgous

The man probably just digs the RBK helmet.

I've been playing for years and have tried every helmet on the market since the first Cooper 1000 and the RBK lid is by far the most comfortable.

Incidentally, for those of you who don't know what a cool dude this guy is this is a pretty good article.

CCM Goal equipment has been phased out this year, it's now the RBK Vector Line. Not sure which line Olie wore last year, but regardless, they're at the least dressed like rbk vectors.
