It sounds like they don't fit properly. Unfortunately if the heel cup is too big, you really can't do anything about it.

P.S. Eight spelling mistakes in a sixty word post. I think that's a new record.

Evidently you never saw the Easton website when it went live in 2003. It turned into a typo scavenger hunt.

I was scared away from the manufacturers' discussion boards a long time ago. Long live Mod!

It was their product website, not discussion board.

Yeah, I'm sure that is exactly what the skate designers meant the skates to do. "Hmm, lets design a skate that rips the flesh off the player's ankles. That'll sell."

Your skates don't fit your feet. Your friend's skates don't fit his feet. Skates that damage your feet while you skate don't fit.

You may be able to have the skates punched out or re-heated or something. Without seeing the skate or having any more than a vague idea where on your foot the issue is occurring I can't say. Your best would be to go to a competent LHS and ask their opinion.

no they fit fine nd my mates vector 10s r riping in to his feet aswell

Might I suggest that if they are ripping the feet, they don't fit fine.

I thought that Tacks fitted me fine, because the first LHS I went to before I knew how to skate put me in tacks, as I asked for cheap skates (252s). I had pain constantly across the top of my foot, but thought that was the way it was for hockey skates.

Then I found my new LHS in Laurel, and got properly fitted, and the difference has been night and day.

Maybe that's 'cause you and your mate have been fitted improperly. With skates, like allsmoke said, any pain is usually because of an improper fitting.

Stage one is usually denial. As soon as you get over that you're on your way to getting a skate that fits.

What kind of response did you imagine?

- Put the left skate on the right foot and vise versa?

- Sprinkle pixie dust in them?

Search around here for one of the many threads about proper skate sizing, then compare with what you have. You'll see.

What if he can't keep the door shut while he is inside?? How will the skates get heated up?? Should he turn the heat up higher??

He must not have liked the responses he got on the CCM site, they were basicaly the same in telling him his skates do not fit...

Just curious, if people would fill in the 2 different options below.

Classic signs your heel is too wide?: blisters, teared skin, resulting in "bauer bumps"

Classic signs your heel is too narrow?: aching pain.

Here is my response from the CCM site...

yes they are suppose to peel the skin off and should hurt like hell everytime you where them. Hockey players love pain and this is just part of the sport.

Now that the stupid question has been answered....Skates should fit and feel comfortable. The only pain you should get (if any) is during the break in period. If your skin keeps getting rubbed of it sounds like the skate does not fit right and is to big. Your foot is not locking into the heel and is moving all around.

COme on guys, it is not nice to make fun of retarded children. The special olympics has made great contributions to the sport of ice hockey and it is great that this young man took the time to wander down to the store and pick up a pair of skates. We should celebrate the strides that retarded hockey players all over the world have made and not fault him if he can't type as well as regular people like you and me.
