Vishi05 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 So we're down 7-4 with under two minutes left in the game and some douche tries to go between his legs on a shot.Do you think this is worthy of an ass kicking, even in a rec league?
kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 Definantly, go get em. Showboating is not needed when they have a commanding lead
mack 44 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 Not much is worth fighting over for in a rec league and certainly not that. I'd be all right slashing the stick out of his hands but not fighting.

We play them again in February so he better keep his head up or it will meet my shoulder or forearm.
KYHockey3 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 it was a perfect opportunity for him to do it, so oh well.i see kdis do it in roller even when the game is close. its not like he scored, so i would just be thankful he didnt make it 8-
Oberon 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 Jesus, it's rec league hockey, calm down. Laugh at him. Mock him. Picking a fight with him just gives him the satisfaction of knowing he got under your skin.
D-Wo 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 In my opinion the ultimate payback would to shut him down the whole game next time you play them. Tell the coach that you want to mark him and you want to be on the ice everytime he's out there. When you're out there just pester him and pester him. You're like his freaking shadow, he can't go anywhere without you on him, poking him, tapping and hooking him with your stick, bodychecking him, popping his stick up off the ice. Yap at him also while you're doing it, "Come on superstar, get in the game" "I wanna see a between the legs goal SUPERSTAR!"   That get under his skin real fast. C'mon!Everyone has to go to work in the morning...no sense beating on a guy cause he pulled off a move (regardless of the score) in a league he's paying to be in. When it's a tie game? When his team is losing? It's rec hockey, have some fun and enjoy it. Next time don't give up 7 goals so he won't try a move like that. Jim A 4 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 the person who does it in a tight game gets the accolades..when you are doing against a team you are killing its being a douche'don't fight..just slash their pricey OPS in half the next time you're out against them

shute 4 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 it's a rec league... i wouldn't put much into it and just try to have some fun. if someone wants to showboat then let them and if they pull it off then great. heck when i play rec i even let people go by me who can't skate that well and no one seems to care. you would look more like a fool trying to bodycheck someone in a rec league. AnthonyJTa 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 we had a guy pull something like that in my rec roller league... I just mimmicked the same move he did on my own goalie... and scored in my own net... it was 11-2 at that point, so even my goalie found it funny. I just glided by him and said "I can do that too!!!" the ref was laughing, and said "Alright guys... let's just finish the game up" and proceeded to drop the puck. Yeah, he was kind of a douche for trying it... but you have to be able to take the piss out of yourself in the process of an 11-2 whitewashing. It's a rec league... have fun
usahockey22 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 Wow, who really cares? Just play hockey and try not to get worked up over things like this...it is a "recreational" league afterall....go out and try a few between the legs moves yourself, maybe you'll lighten up. stick9 896 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 Ask yourself this. Who the bigger tool, the guy who showboats in a rec league blowout, or the guy that decks him for it?
topshelf11 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 In my beer league, we had some A vs. B games. Not much fun for either team. The big hotdog on the other A team tried the Michigan Move late in a blowout game against the old guys team (all are 40+ and the goalie is about 60!).The biggest D-Man on the old guys just flattened the kid as he came along the side of the net. Needless to say, he didn't score.I didn't see it, but one of the refs told me about it. He also said, "Somehow, I missed seeing that to call a penalty." All Torhs Team 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 Hmm, this actually happened to me. My teammate went down on a breakaway and tried the froggy when we were winning like 8-0. He scored and I went to give him congrats. Well the other team was pretty upset and they got us two confused. I ended up getting tackled by like three guys and getting numerous punches. It was pretty pointless, I had a helmet and they had gloves. But still it was pretty embarrasing. But I dont think you should start a fight with a guy because he can score. I mean you could look at it in another way. What if hes just doing the froggy move so he doesnt score? What if he knows he could snipe but he just pretty much gives the goalie a save? Deerok 3 Report post Posted January 23, 2007 I would leave him alone unless he does something cheap to you or a teammate (then cream him when he cuts across the middle with his head down-showboats always do).Otherwise, just like the other guys said before me; he is just a tool afraid to play against guys at his level. An Assclown in rec hockey-'nuff said.
rob 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2007 i watched a guy in our league showboating, playing a team well below his standards the netminder had been injured so they kitted second minder he got injured (some freak accident) they kitted up an outfield player who was basically there for 5 mins to finish the game off. he was trying his best this lad started showboating putting through his legs scoring etc. in the end goalkeeper got fed up of it helmet off and give him a right good seeing too lol was funny to watch smile wiped off his face by getting his arse kicked all his players stood by cos basically he deserved it lol.rob
Chadd 916 Report post Posted January 24, 2007 Our goalie would have come out and drilled him on his own, all I would have to do is pick up the pieces.
