warrior37 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2007 im going to add my two cents to this thread: 1. if you play in a league where a fight is more than a 5 min penalty, you are NOT a fighter2. if you come here and share stories about your fights, you are probably not a fighter

JR Boucicaut 3804 Report post Posted February 23, 2007 It's bound to happen if you play long enough. Hockey is an emotional sport, and somtimes your emotions take over and common sense goes out the window. I've been in my fair share of fights, and for the most part you just end up with bumps and bruises, and an occasional cut or two. For the most part it's nothing personal, and more times than not I end up talking to the other guy while we are sitting in the box, and usualy shake hands and say "nothing personal" after the game.HAHA and this comes from the dude who jumped into the stands a month ago at Novi, Ron Artest style! Just messin' with ya...Story?I ain't one to gossip, so I'll let him tell the story.
Doctor Hook 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2007 did i ever say that? or did i just post up my two cents? No you didn't, and my two cents was that beer leaguers who get in dustups know that they're not Probert or maybe even legitimately tough, but from my eyes, a knock to the cage can be the solution to a cheap shot artist. zrez 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2007 I've been in two fights and jumped once so far in my JR hockey career (2nd year). First fight was against the league leader in pnealty mins. It was a line brawl and he grabbed me. Much bigger and tougher than me. I had no way of escaping so i dropped the mits and we went at it. It was mostly just me dodging his punches. The second fight was after a faceoff we droped the gloves and helmets and squared off.Theres this one guy on my team who always fights. This one time a kid ina visor tried to fight him and our guy wouldnt. SO the visor guy just grabbed him and started throwing punches, so our guy decided to go with it. Punched the kid in the visor about 2 times before his visor completley smashes of his helmet. Then kept punching him in the face. Coolest fight i've ever seen. Biaggi 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2007 To make a long story short... after a very poorly called game 17 to 2 in penalty's called, my goalie and myself were trying to talk to the ref's about the lack of calls on the opposing team. The ref's gave my goalie 3 games suspension just for trying to talk to them. We were frusterated to say the least while getting off of the ice a friend of the other team we were playing yelled "why dont you guys stop being ...'s"(durogatory term for female's genitalia) so I knda of snaped. I dropped my gloves and stick and ran into the stands after him, when I got there he dropped his arms to his sides, and wouldnt say a word. I pushed him a couple times and called him a few names of my own. He didnt retaliate, so I just left it at that. The whole situation got blown out of proportion, and I am currently suspended from the league. So much for making the story short.

BK 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 Worst I have ever been in was a bench clear. Both teams on the ice, 2 or 3 couples fighting. Me and the L1 center of the other team grabbed each other's jersies and talked about how his mom made the trip out from Colorado.

hyprlte 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 i actually got into a fight tonight. (it was just pick up) I was hit from behind from a guy whos pretty out of shape but when you go against him on a rush he charges you and goes for your knees. Anyways he hit me from behind and after a couple of weeks of us playing really hard on each other, this is the hit that set me off. I dropped my gloves and before he knew it i had him jerseyed with the shirt covering his head and his helmet off. He threw 2 punches, one was completely off and one was going for my face so i just put my helmet down and he hit my visor (i think he scratched it, that kinda pissed me off after). Now I dont mean to brag at all, but if i were to have thrown one punch he wouldnt have seen it coming and it would have had a solid connection that would have done some serious damage. So needless to say i did not throw a punch at all... it was pick up after all and i would have felt horrible if i would have hurt him. So he kept chirping me and i just told him he was a goon for hitting me from behind. I think i should talk to him next week and clear the air because its not worth in the end, Its just for fun. Ill save my real competitiveness for league games that actually matter. Just my 2 cents

They SHOULD have been prevented by security or the staff. A few that come to mind is 4 years back, I went to a BYU vs Utah State game. It was a home game for Utah state and they have always been bitter rivals. On the way into the portals, fans would throw cups of beer, trash and would get smacked on the helmet by some of the fans in the lower section by the boards. Nothing ever came of it, but if I were in that situation, I would go abso-fuckin-lutly ape shit on anybody who touched me. Its nice to see that they held their composure, even when security just stood there and laughed.Theres a point where you should just ignore dumbass fans.. but when they start tossing shit at me is when I would lose it. I don't blame you for hopping the stands.
