Isn't it hard to search for RBK 9 O since it doesn't meet the 4 letter minimum.

The stick was delated till August. I was told there's a big demand in NHL for next season and since they can't be produced with traditional stick production methods, it takes longer to make each stick. Could be just an excuse, but sounds reasonable. I don't see how these can be pumped out quickly and if there is a pro demand, they get first dibs for sure.

No results for RBK9K0, "RBK 9K0", or RBK 9K0. Wish we had a three character minimum...

Anybody have any insight as to how the stick is designed? I think it looks like a solid shaft and the holes reduce the weight. With the stick being solid, one would think it would be more durable than a hollow shaft. I may be very wrong with the solid shaft assumption.

It's a 07 model. We were suspose to get them in May, in small batches. Has been delayed due to pro demand. Makes sense to me. If it were a problem with design, it would be a GOOD thing retail release was delayed, otherwise you hear an uproar on this sight how they "rushed" to a inferior product to market. I guess they can't win either way.

I wasn't implying that anything is wrong with that...just like when Microsoft or Apple pushes back an operating system release...it generally means they encountered issues they did not expect. I agree with you, however, that to fix the problem (if there was one) before initial release is the best way to handle the situation.

The official word is that they wanted it to have a standalone release. The official launch was May, however RBK figured that making a big splash in August would be more beneficial to the stick's success than have it come in May lumped in with everyone else's product. Obviously the other side of the spectrum is that people would assume there were production/durability issues.

Didn't Datsyuk break his during the ASG shortly after the announcers mentioned it?

I don't remember when, but the announcers where pimpin' RBK talking about how durable it was and that Datsyuk never broke them...literally 30 seconds later he snaps his twig in half and the announcers said 'Sorry Reebok'

Hilarious

i picked up one last week and will be trying it out in the next few days, it doesnt feel as lite as say a SE, but weight is not always the determining factor on a "good" stick

Got to play with one last week...one of the guys that plays for SUNY Morrisville 's father works for the NY Rangers. He had an Ortmeyer 9KO. The shaft was the most solid shaft I have ever held...felt like a piece of raw steel...noticeably heavier than my UltraLite two piece and my Synergy. What others are saying could be true based on whatI felt and saw about the blade. It seemed to mee that the 9KO is too much shaft for the blade. I noticed that the blade would bend quite a bit on one-timers to the guy I was passing to. The shaft never flexed.

I don't have the strongest upper body, so I use a lower flex to get torque on my shots. With the 9KO, I had to work twice as hard to get a good snap on my shot. This of course is most likely attributed to the flex of the shaft. That said...way too much shaft for the blade.
