How do these MIA's look?

Recommended Posts

Just looking for some feedback before I order my MIA's tomorrow. It's a tufftek main shell with a carbon cuff and stripes. Also, I'm getting the nash palm because I've heard that the MicroNash is not durable enough for someone that plays 5-6 times a week. I'm interested in mesh gussets, but am not sure exactly what to choose (sponge mesh, PowerNet?). Any other recommendations?

The carbon might not be the best choice for the cuff- not sure if any changes have been made, but there have been durability issues.

Is full tufftek the way to go then?

Also, does anyone know about the mesh gussets?

My personal preference is the all TuffTek (Cloth) glove. Its a very light fast drying glove. We've ordered a few Carbon gloves and they just dont do it for me... Look at what most of the pro's who are wearing MIA have. Id save over 75% wear Tufftek

Add me to the 'not feeling the carbon' list. Aside from the supposedly questionable durability, I just think it looks cheap. What's "classic?" Is that leather/fake leather? If that's the case, I'd either go with all tufftek, or tufftek with 'classic' stripes so the white stripes don't get dirty in three seconds. I'm going entirely on looks here because I don't think I've ever even put my hand inside an MIA glove, so I'd only be guessing on performance/anything else... I know they're your gloves and not mine, but another thing I've always thought would be cool with MIA's is to get the lettering in the same colour as the cuff roll to get a super-minimalist/logo-less thing happening.

i've always thought it would look cool to have the logo the same color as the the cuff, but with a different color outline on the logo. (ie. black cuff roll, black logo, white logo outline.)

I ended up ordering full tufftek except for the stripes, which are classic. I'll make sure to post some pictures when they get here.

When I ordered them, I got the logo the same color as the cuff with no outline, it came out pretty good, a glove with no manufacturer name on it.

Just got my gloves yesterday (thanks to the Hockey Stop here in Columbus), and they feel great on my hand so far. I'm playing my first game in them tonight, so I'll see how they perform in-game.

The blue is a little more subtle in real life than in the pictures, and although I wish it stood out a little more, I have no complaints about the aesthetics of the glove.

Nice job on the materials and color!

The carbon material does wear considerably faster on the fingers and the cuff. Tufftek is certainly the way to go for the majority of the glove. Classic or carbon looks great and is durable in the stripes where wear is not an issue.

Dumb question but I've been wondering for a while how does carbon make a pair of gloves effective?? Ex. better looking, lighter, etc?

There isn't carbon in the glove when you choose the carbon option on MIA's. It is simply a synthetic material that has a carbon like weave look to it. I have it on my MIA's and am not that impressed with the material. I should have gone with Tufftek.

I must say, they felt great tonight. They're light with great movement and were basically broken in by warmups. I'm glad I came here for advice before buying, as I initially planned on buying a full-carbon glove.

The game itself was ridiculous, though. You know it's bad when at one point, your team has six guys in the box and only five on the bench, and the opposing coach is harassing with one of your players between periods and after the game. <_<
