where in norcal? im actually quitting my job because i'm spending 3 weeks with my folks there over christmas, busiest days for retail too...

Work has been tough lately. In my profession (wholesale HVAC supplier) with the housing construction slow down, and overall poor interest rates, and declining stock market.....residential and commercial new construction has slowed considerably. As the worlds largest Plumbing and HVAC distributor, yet having 60% of our revenue based out of the US, we are having difficulties right now. I was forced to "lay off" 4 people out of 28 on my staff. And I am sure that further "corporate downsizing" will be coming down the pipeline soon. Hopefully in my managerial position, and further up the food chain, my position will be safe.....for the time being at least.

Monday I worked from 7am-3 in afternoon.. then came back in same day at 11pm and worked 11pm-7am.. that shit sucked. Didnt sleep for 25 hours. Good thing though is I had yesterday and today off, bad thing is I'm working 9 days straight before running up to PA for a couple of days.

I need to quit and go back to school..

That's how this whole week has been going...I'm barely keeping myself awake. I'm a student, but I've been on break since the day before Thanksgiving, and been working at an office on campus. Not much is going on at all, and since everyone is done till the 2nd week of January, no people are around to stop by the office for anything. So I've been watching How I Met Your Mother on CBS.com among other things...

That's how this whole week has been going...I'm barely keeping myself awake. I'm a student, but I've been on break since the day before Thanksgiving, and been working at an office on campus. Not much is going on at all, and since everyone is done till the 2nd week of January, no people are around to stop by the office for anything. So I've been watching How I Met Your Mother on CBS.com among other things...

Don't take the student lifestyle for granted. At times when you are at work you will wish you were still in school.

I'm on call today but the only call was telling me I have a 5AM report time tomorrow morning. On the plus side, I'll be done at 10 or so and I can grab a nap before my game.

Just finishing off my Locomotive Conductor training for CN. Loving this job and I should be riding the rails fully in a week and a half. Perfect job for me.

Took down every hockey skate we had in the store and reorganized them in order of size, brand and price point.

The skates before were organized by brand and stacked about 7 high. Took the same amount of space, yet are on their sides. Will be much easier to find sizes now.

Might have to clean the sharpener next.

Let's see... had a meeting this morning with the administration and the rest of the staff to see if we can get re-classified in the union. After that I did some recreational computing for an hour. Then I went to lunch. Came back, sharpened some skates and did some cleaning. Found out that the stick order I put in last month got lost so the sticks I was counting on coming in this week won't be showing up :angry: Spent an hour or so helping out the players as they got ready for practice. I am currently just sitting around waiting for practice to be over. I watched a little but got cold so now I'm huddling over my computer in my office trying to warm-up. Very productive day :D

Haha I must be the anti-management manager...

Well, I leave those jobs to the hourlies...there's a couple who are on the shitlist. One of them is going to organize hangers when he works next.

I spent the entire day the way I spend almost every Wednesday. I think about stuff and write a lot of bullshit on paper. Then someone comes and asks me a question. I try to answer it, they go away. I then go back to writing nonsense. I have lunch with the wife. Then I write something that's not nonsense, feel impressed with myself, and proceed to waste time until more people come and ask me questions. Questions answered, people instructed, research worked on, time for the bus. Another Wednesday day killed, time for Wednesday night.

i work in the print department of a pharmaceutical company...

most of the first half of my day was spend playing on the internets, mostly starting to get an idea on the cost of starting a brewpub.

had fish tacos from the awesome mexican place down the street for lunch.(best part of my day!)

came back to a small shit storm. people deciding they needed their massive orders several days earlier. gross stupidity shown by my wonderful coworkers...being understaffed and way backed up.

i think im having vietnamese for lunch tomorrow.
