Post Game Beer

Recommended Posts

We would usually have some Carlsberg, although I'm quite fond of a few tins of Magners cider after a game... its very refreshing.

Although I don't drink anymore, I would have to agree... nothing better than a nice Magner's or Strongbow to quench your thirst/get you tipsy.

I went drunk off of my arse to a roller hockey game and had 5g, 4a. Everything I touched went in.

And as the worst room beer, it's gotta be Steel Reserve. My buddy brought that one night, and gave me one. I was struggling to choke that crap down. By the time I finished it, everybody else was finishing their second normal beer. If you'd ever seen me drink beer, you'd know that was a rare sight.

when at a bar, I'm pretty picky, but after a game, it doesn't really matter..

I've skated on teams sponsored from everything from Bud Light to Arrogant Bastard Ale

Some of the best nights in the parking lots with a crew that DarkStar knows was spurred on by some OV splits....

Nobody drinks and parties after a game like Terminal Hockey. I am talking grills going in the parking lot until 3 AM.

In the early 90s, when Terminal Hockey closed our only barn, the famous low Tor Ice Center in Haverstraw, NY after skating there as a group since 1977, the boys partied hard in the parking lot. Around 2 AM we took the party down the road to Brownie's house. At 4 AM we started watching the video of the final game ever in Low Tor. The rink was being torn down. A few hours later, the birds were chirping, the sun was coming up, and the party finally ended. That party was a classic.

Like my buddy said at the beginning of the year:

"As long as the beers are cold, we're all winners!"

And pre and post game beers are the norm around my way.....

Beer doesn't judge.

coors light...

i used to hate the stuff, but the need for a refreshing, 'watered down', post-hockey beer, as opposed to something thicker, dictated a gradual change in taste. now i drink it all the time.

see here, only reason i ask is there were some americans who told me coors light was like 3% in the US, ill take ur word for it tho.

There is a reason why it tastes like water.

coors light is 4.2% alcohol content. same as bud light, miller light, and michelob light. and the regular versions are all 5%

I had a 24 of bud lite in the states because apparently its the local favorite. The taste was alright but It took way more to get going the numbers really dont lie.

Although I can't recall using or ever hearing the term "bitch beer", a quick "Google" lead to this from www.urbandictionary.com:

In the States alcohol content is measured by weight as opposed to volume. So a %4 beer in the states would be a %3.2 beer in Canada...

All the beer-based taunting can be found here:

There are a couple of brewers on my team, few weeks back we had a keg of stout.

We also are on top of a few nice bars (we play at ballston, the caps practice facility) and go down to rock bottom brewery after games. They do a hockey themed beer, their blueline pale ale, very nice.

Also, yeungling always goes down well in the carpark after

the perceived difference in alcohol content in american and canadian beers is based on 2 measuring systems. american beer is measured in alcohol by volume (abv), while canadian beer is measured in alcohol by weight (abw).

Blue Moon from Coors

Never did find out why theres such a huge fascination with Blue Moon. Even did the add an orange thing, and its still nothing special.

If i have to bring my own, Hoegaarden or Heineken Lights are the usual. Occaisonally i'll grab some Magic Hat or Stella. Sam Adams Cherry Wheat isnt bad either.
