What do most consider the best tapered 2 piece shaft out there?

Recommended Posts

I did a search regarding this couldnt find anything specific. What do most of you consider the best tapered 2 piece? I have been using 1 pieces and i want to get back into using a 2 piece tapered. Is the synergy II a good choice or a dolo? thanks for the help.

i have no experience with teh warrior stuff but it is praised well here, i have used the synthesis before and i havent broke it or anything, can't go wrong with the syn2 as its the same shaft as the rest of the synergy line and the new one is suggested to be the syn SE.

Best tapered two piece is the old TPS R2XN10 paired with any blade. You can still find juniors and intermediates floating around but anything in a senior size is tough to track down.

Two lower kickpoint shafts are the Mission L-2 and the Warrior Dolomite. I think the L-2 isn't too far from the Flyweight, and you can occasionally find them online for dirt cheap with a couple blades (definitely intermediate, not sure about senior). From the couple times I've played around with a Dolo, it doesn't seem far off.

I've been using a Ballistik tapered shaft (52 Calibre) and really love the small diameter of the shaft (even smaller than the 2005 Stealth I was coming from). Weighs in at 290 grams. For a finesse player (as in they don't let us take slaphots anymore), I couldn't be happier!

Mission Flyweight is by far the best tapered shaft I have used; lasted me 6 seasons before it became wedged on the boards during a game and snapped. Since they are becoming rather difficult to find, you may want to look at the Vapor XXX Lite.

Sorry to jump in and ask, but I had been looking and can't find the answers anywhere: does anyone know the length and numerical flex equivalent of an XN10 Intermediate? Thanks in advance.

No one likes the synergy II?

I like how it performs on wristers and snappers because of how whippy mine is (70 flex). However, the shaft shape is quite boxy. Overall, it's a solid shaft.

to some degree anyone that likes/ed the ST/SL/SE , someone could correct me but i think its the same shaft as at least the ST. I'd buy one for sure and maybe will if they go on sale when the new one comes out

The Synergy II is "supposed" to have SL-type specs. However, it is not nearly as balanced as an SL or SE. I would agree that the Synergy II shaft is more similar to the ST.

I like my Synergy II but I don't have any other tapered shaft experience to compare it to. I did NOT like the feel of the Synergy ST I had.

I like flyweights and xn10s. The xn10 is the only stick that I like using at 85 flex, it kicks like a 100 flex.

Flyweights are close at 90(10/7) flex, they kick like a 100 flex. Keep in mind that the TPS will feel whipper, so it's a soft 85 and the flyweight is a stiffer 90 flex.

Dolomites are pretty nice as well, pretty impressed by my pro stock offerings.

What is the flex on an XN10 when it just says "stiff" for the options? I dont want something too stiff especially since I will be cutting it down some.
Click on "flex chart" at the top of the page. It still says Louisville but TPS uses the same flexes.
