RYM Bottom 100 Albums

Recommended Posts

This was just for fun. Keep in mind that this list is based off of the overall ratings that the albums are given by RYM users. It wasn't a hand-selected list, or a single person/groups opinion.

I for one do own the Clash record that's listed. The idea to use beats was probably a poor decision, but there are still a couple good songs on there.

St. Anger - Metallica. I thought it was good, not a Metallica sound but still better than bottom 100 of all time.

75 of these albums are just pop hits that someone obviously didn't like and tanked the votes.

Looking at the whole list, it seems #5000 is the worst of the worst, #1 is the best of the worst?

Like I said, it's a cumulative total of all the records with the lowest ratings according to the sites users.

#1 would be the worst of the worst. I agree that some of them probably shouldn't have even been taken into consideration, but then again, you'd have to go through a whole tedious process of defining what is or isn't music, etc. Anything goes.

The list also doesn't serve any real purpose other than for people on the site, so again, it was for laughs.

I don't own any full albums from the Top (er, bottom) 200...but I know I've got individual songs from lots of those...and I know I bought more than 1 of those for my GF's kids over the years.

Britney...BSB...N*Sync etc...(ick!)

Stupid list. Its your typical we love rock music list. I counted 20 on one quick read through that are platinum albums and that were extremely popular among the listeners of that type of music. Thats whats wrong with music listeners they just don't like types of music and they talk about it like its so easy. I personally only listen to country and rap, and if i hear one more person say they can be a millionaire rapper or a platinum selling country singer cause they broke a tractor I'm going to break a guitar over their head.

How many times will it have to be said that this is for laughs, and not anything but a reflection of users on a website? Someone needs to take a little nap.

Come on, Pantera??? Sure it was a bad album, however you do hear the very infancy of Dime and Vinnie's greatness from when they were in their late teens. Stylistically, it isn't Pantera, but for any true fan, there is nothing like hearing two masters of their craft get their feet wet. RIP Dime.

Prussian Blue at #102? Aw, c'mon.

I own that record as well, and just a few days ago it was in the high 90's. It definitely gets weird towards the bottom.

Haven't heard the albums but Lennon? Dylan? Young? Elton? not gonna lie I recieved the 2 Limp Bizkit Albums as gifts in the past lol

I've heard "Knocked Out Loaded" by Dylan, and "Leather Jackets" by Elton. It's almost like John decided to try writing his own tunes without Bernie Taupin, and Dylan decided that telling stories was no longer his strong suit. They're just bad.

I have Peter Criss album on my computer. But I also have Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Gene Simmons.

But to quote Peter Griffin, "Nobody wants to be Peter Criss, not even Peter Criss wants to be Peter Criss."

I own St Anger, but didn't pay for it. My mom used to work for Musicland and would get tons of free CD's. And the Simple Plan CD. And Nickleback. So I own three, and paid for none of them.

That is quite the weird combination, I guess no different than me liking tool and Andrea Bocelli! lol

Being a rapper is so easy nowadays. Like it is all synthesizers, and computer generated grabage! It is all the same beat, so stupid generic beat that can't be copyrighted because it is so generic. Then you have some catchy lyrics that make no sense, and are such garbage that you make William Hung look like a lyrical genious. Rapping is all marketing really. In all sex...er rap videos you have half naked women running around with supersoakers, in front of a $350 000 car with the rapper guy throwing around hundreds of dollars like it is nothing. People like that, don't ask why, cause I don't know.

Rap that is good is Tupac, he always had a message in his songs. He didn't glorify himself as some sort of god cough...Kanye...cough. He worked hard for what he loved and he later died for what he loved. He would be rolling around in his grave right now if he saw this rap crap!! (for you conspiracy nuts, reread that last sentence). What happened to rap that meant something, when they had a political message? What happened to the time when rappers thought hard about the lyrics, and when every song wasn't about getting/being rich and banging a really hot chick?

That is my view on todays rap, old rap in early-mid 90's was good. Except Vanilla ice off course!

Just because it sells, doesn't mean it's good.

The only one I have is the Dylan/Dead and I have no idea where I got it because I didn't buy it.

Baha Men

Who Let the Dogs Out

I bought this album when I was running scoreboard & sound for my sons the squirt team. They're called the Bulldogs and they came out to "Who let the dogs out'.

I don't understand how an album that sold 1.16 million copies in it's first 4 days could be on there. There has to be something good on it to attract all those customers.
