how much did you size down for your skates?

i know they say a 1/2 size (some say even a full size) from your shoe size.. but i never really followed that, i always felt as though a 7.5 or 8 was TOO tight.. so i always stuck with my shoe size, 8.5 (granted my foot grew to a 9.. so i guess the 8.5s i have should fit me 'perfect' now)

how much did you size down for your skates?

i ask this b/c.. i just found this random interesting pic of Brian Gionta back to back with Zdeno Chara..

and they say BG has a size 5 skate (i'm the same height as him.. and i wear a 8.5) and Chara has a size 12.. people i've known that are that tall (i know one or two people) have always had a foot size over 14-15..

I wear a 10.5 or 11 in shoes depending on brand, and I wear a 9 in my Vapor XXV's and my toe just barely feathers the toe cap.

You probably need a much shorter boot but a wider boot with more volume as well. I have about a size 5 length but haven't been able to find something wide enough or deep enough in that length.

I wear a size 12.5/13 shoe and a size 10 in Vectors. I've always heard 1-1 1/2 smaller than shoe size.

I wear a 10.5 shoe and an 8.5 in grafs. . . . toes are more than feathering the caps. I've got the sides punched out a bit to make the boot a bit wider for my liking.

Size 10.5 shoes, Vapor XXXX 7.5ee fits comfortably no toes curled just snug like I like it.

I remember a funny story about Chris Pronger a few years back It was either the World Cup of Hockey or the Olympics...he had some equipment sent to the trainers a day or two before wherever they were playing and the equipment guys were freaking out because they thought they sent the wrong size skates. It turns out he wears a 7.5 in skates, that seems funny for a guy being 6' 6'' so I can see why they would have concern at first.

i'm a 8.5 or 9 shoe (depending on what shoe it is.. Nikes i'm a 9.. Converses/Vans.. depends.. i'm a 8.5 or a 9)

and i tried on my old Bauers in a size 8 and they feel WAY too snug for me.. and my old school Nikes i have (that i still use) are a 8.5 and they fit perfect. i've skated in them without problems (foot/ankle).

1.5-2 sizes. I wear a 9-9.5 US shoe, depending on how wide it is (I have wide feet). I wear a 7.5 EE skate right now.

Edit: Vapor XXV 7.5 EE. Slightly small, a 7.75 EE could have been a little better.
