how much did you size down for your skates?

Recommended Posts

12.5E shoe (13D if I can't find that).

CCM Vectors in 10D were the closest fit for me...surprisingly little modification required.

Size 8 in Nike and Reebok shoes. 8 in 'dress/business' style shoes. Also, my feet and ankles are VERY narrow/skinny w/ average to high arch.

Size 6.0D - Bauer One55 w/ aftermarket insole.

No other modification necessary after baking them. However, toe box/forefoot area feels a little more open then I'd like, but not bad. I went with the aftermarket insole because I was getting cramps under my arch. That was fixed once I swapped in the new insole.

No real rhyme or reason for skate sizing! Probably should mention whether you go with or without socks, since it does make a difference.

Me: 9-9.5 shoe size

Skates: Bauer Vapor XXX 7.5

Roller hockey: Old Missions 8.0

barefoot in both.

Size 10 Sneakers, 10.5 Dress Shoe

Currently in 8D CCM U+ CL and they feel great. I've been in 8.5 for a few years, but I noticed my toe length was a little bit shorter than *standard* and there was still a little room at in the toe box that I wasn't always crazy about, so I went down a half size and it's been great.

Ideally, if there was an 8.25 retail skate offered, it would be perfect for me.

A LHS should be able to stretch them enough to really be a 8.25?

Because I do drop about 1.5 in size from shoe to skate it baffles me how some people dont' have too. Just explains how different each persons foot really is.

13 (really 12 3/4) street shoe size

11.5 D/A Bauer One95s with SuperFeet insole...very thin running socks are worn most of the time, but I occasionally go barefoot in the summer if it's really hot in the rink (and it usually is here in TX in the summer!)

I wear a size 10.5 shoe size in almost any brand but i mostly wear mizuno. I've had a pai of Bauer x1 skates that were a size 9d and my feet kept cramping up on me even after baking and plenty of break in time. I've since switched to reebok 8k in size 9e with a perfect fit.

I typically have to go up 1/2-1 size in shoes due to the width of my foot. I wear mostly 11s, but a very wide 10-10.5 would be a better fit.

I'm in an 8.5 E CCM, but could use EE.

Wear about a 9 in most athletic shoes.

Currently wearing a Bauer Flexlites 4.0 in 6.5D .

Previous skates:

CCM Tacks 552 - Size 7.5D

Bauer Vapor RX25 - Size 7.5R (7.0 would have been a better fit)

Bauer Vapor X30 - Size 7D (perfect length, not wide enough).

size 11 - 11.5 in most brand tennis shoes

size 10.5 dress shoes

Bauer one .9 size 8.5 D

I usually wore size 9.5's and thought i had 'narrow' feet, i even made a thread about it. Now that I was fit by someone who knows what they are talking about I come to find out the Bauer Supreme line fits my foot the best and my foot isn't 'narrow'
