34Strudwick 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2008 Thanks MickZ -You are correct.... Manufacturer overload..... There are 1 million different gloves out there.....I assume most of the common brands are good quality....?That is why I posted this question.... I will have to hit the hockey store and try some on and then go to Hockey_Monkey.... and do the deed.....Thanks !!Best of luck waiting on hockey monkey to ship to you. I've ordered from them a few times now and never got what i ordered because they never have what they advertise.
highorder 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2008 4 rolls all the way. best value, comfort, protection. cant ask for more in that price range.I have a new pair in front of me. I was wearing a pair of Easton Z air's from a few years back. The NBH 4 roll looks like a hot ticket; comfort, protection, and the right price.

jsmart 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 Sorry to bump an old topic, but I'm in this boat now (same use - Sr., no check, defense) and don't want to start it all over. Any changes with current sales and new gloves on the market? Would also like to stay in the $100-$150 price range...Tried on alot of different gloves this weekend but the LHS stock of 15's was light...btw the gloves they had in 15's all felt about the same to me (9K, one90, XXXX, S17, SE16 - none in the colors I would want!!!!)...must be my lack of skill...lol...anyway I would buy any of them just curious what the thoughts were here...Thanks! eric42434224 1 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 Are you sure you need 15"? I thought I did, but with todays elbow pads that come down on the arm, I found that 14" gloves fit better and provided more mobility. I am 6Ft tall, so Im not small. It seems that the majority of pros use 14" as well

TBLfan 25 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 That's my issue. I like a gap so it's finding a glove that has longer fingers on a 14" glove but a shorter cuff. A 15" glove fits me like it's "supposed" to but I like a good 2-3" gap.
Rustpot 1 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 That's my issue. I like a gap so it's finding a glove that has longer fingers on a 14" glove but a shorter cuff. A 15" glove fits me like it's "supposed" to but I like a good 2-3" gap.I'm about the same, TBL. I get 14" gloves for the overall length, but it's almost annoying having the stubby fingers.Just about every company would be better if they made a 14" with long fingers. I'm finally making the push into Easton pros to see if they're up to the hype, Eagle X70s and TPS HGT certainly fell short IMO. Don't know if the newer Eagles or TPS gloves are any better though. I have half a mind to dump my M-1s since the index finger has those ungodly huge side blocks that keep my hand from closing right, superb glove otherwise.I'll have 10 sets after the next few boxes show up on my doorstep, probably going to sell 5-7 of them and fund a new pair of something like PPF+, XXXX or 4-roll 15" gloves if nothing suits my fancy. Every pair just has one little thing wrong that makes me want to find something else.I had to borrow a set of Sande gloves at a game over the summer, those were spectacular. I just need to find some in person to try out, kinda wary of picking up some of those close-outs on ebay only to get a lesser or older design that doesn't have what I liked about the set I tried. And for the record, any set of gloves can be had for under $100 if you look and wait hard/long enough.Damn companies like TPS, Warrior, Eagle etc for not making 15" gloves. Eagle has a + size now, but in a $200 glove. If I ever see those 15"-1 on ebay in 4-rolls, I won't hesistate to buy them.
jsmart 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 all the 14s (4 roll, SE16's, one90's, 9K's) I tried on felt like the palm was too short. I'm not sure if I'm describing it right but I have a long hand (not long fingers) and so the palm felt too short.

I'm not sure if I'm describing it right but I have a long hand (not long fingers) and so the palm felt too short. You need a 15" glove with stubby fingers then. The Mission H750 gloves I just got from Chadd have pretty stubby fingers for being a 15" glove. When you're wearing the glove do your fingers bottom out, or is there room at the end of your fingers and part of the cuff is touching your palm? Most 14" gloves are fine overall, but I bottom out in the fingers, could use 1/2" more length at least.

Rustpot 1 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 I was speaking of 14" gloves, mostly. The few 15" sets I have, save the Heliums, are all long enough. 1/4" may be enough to get the fit feeling right, I don't really know without busting out a ruler.
