Recommended Posts

i just heard on the radio that the metal band atreyu is marketing hockey sticks. i dont know if its their own brand or if their using another brand with their name on it. this seems like a random thing to do.

It's actually not a bad idea at all, especially from Easton's prspective. They're tying in their product to pop culture, albeit not a mainstream band. It makes sense though, as hockey isn't a mainstream sport. Look for others to start following suit. I would have thought that Warrior would have been the first to pull something like this off, as they're all about the marketing and hype.

Yeah, maybe if I ask...we'll see! I've only met the guy once at a party so he may not want to give one to her (my friend) to give to me.

You can get one, as long as you can still pay rent...

Wait, your 5 feet tall -- they don't make it in a 65 flex.

So you should definately get one and give it to your roommate.

Gimmiiiick. It's the exact same stick, correct? I don't know. Seems pointless.

yeah obviously its advertising, no different from whats normally on a stick except its a third party. Its not directed towards hockey players looking for the best thing, its directed towards hockey players/atreyu fans

I only sort of know who Atreyu is, but the stick does look kind of cool. I wonder why they haven't done anything like this before. Marketing the stick with a random band seems kind of weird, but if they're putting out sticks with limited/custom designs, they should tie in their players with it - like a design inspired by the player whose pattern it is or something. From a marketing standpoint that just seems to make a lot more sense. It would be like when baseball players in the 80's wore those sweatbands with their faces on them.

I believe they're only available via local radio promotions. It's a marketing push from their label...
