Any recommendations on these elbow pads?

Recommended Posts

Im looking for opinions on these. Flexibility is probably my biggest concern. Im getting ready to let go of my Flak elbow pads Ive had now for about 8 years, the straps are getting bad and constantly sliding down my arm. As a result, I don't feel like taping them on anymore... haha If anyone has any experience and/or input about those I mentioned it would be appreciated. Other suggestions would be are welcome too. Thanks in advance.

I've used Jofa and CCM Vectors presiously and have always had slippage issues. I have resolved my elbow pad slipping issues with the one90s. Very comfortable, very mobile and they stay put.

I would recommend that you don't consider slippage in your selection criteria. Slippage can be resolved by wearing an undershirt with grip on the arms.

the one90s are great. lots of mobility and good protection, took a slapper of the forearm and only stung a bit

i cannot say enough about the Itech 955. if you have the means... try ANY piece of gear on first and decide from there. dont let marketing or personal opinions sway you. their your elbows.... wear what feels best to you.

I'm a big believer in this statement. Wear whatever shirt you normally wear under your gear and try on as many of the pads as you can. Even if you can only find the wrong size, you should be able to get a feel for how the pad sits and how it will move with your arm.

Just sharing mine. But absolutely go with whatever feels best on your arm. These are all quality pads, no two elbows are alike.

I haven't been able to find the Itech 955s, though I haven't look that hard yet; only checked out two places. I tried on the Fuel 130s and the felt comfortable but wanted to take a look at some other options as well.

I have tried both One90 & XXXX elbow pads many times (to be honest mostly because I liked the "feature set" & the look :)), but they use pretty small & hard elbow cup & very short elbow anchor strap so they wouldn't fit my forearms (which aren't that big - a bit over 14")... the fit supposed to be tight, but come on - not that uncomfortable!

regarding slippage - any 2 piece pad would be a LOT better then one piece in this regard

For me nothing feels or works better than RBK/Jofa elbow pads. The One /90's are also very good but not as good as the latter. I find the Mission Fuel line too bulky but very protective. Never had Itech elbows so I can't give an honest opinion but word of mouth says the fit is not as good as some other popular makes.

I have found that one piece (Jofa X025) and three piece elbows tend to fit your arm better and allow for better movement. Two piece elbows just don't seem to fit properly or move as well.

I use the Easton Stealth S9's and I think they are the best elbows going. I'm hoping the S17's are as good or better. The three piece design of the S9 is mobile as well as being protective and light.

I have not been able to find places that carry One90s and Im not going to buy online without ever trying them. The only high end, 3 piece, comfortable elbow pads I have found are the 2008 Vector 10s and Easton S17s. The Vector 10s seems like a good fit now, but I worry about the stretch material on the inside getting worn out quickly - does anyone have any experience with these pads? I really need to get something, and soon, so I think I will be settling on these. BTW I tried those Mission 130s for the third time and they just feel progressively worse... haha
