removing helmet markings...

Recommended Posts

I would buy some electrical tape, depending on the colour of your helmet. In this case your helmet is blue. I am not a expert at this but that is my opinion.

Ive seen alot of people use electrical tape.

I dont think bauer really wants their logo removed so just taking it off might be a little tricky.

I would just go with the electrical tape. I used black for my helmet that I use to ref and it looks fine. No matter what you use you'll still be able to tell, slightly, the area that has been altered. The electrical tape you will obviously see the tape, but only close up. The sandpaper method will wear down the area and could even affect the helmet's durability.

You'll save time and effort by using blue electrical tape. Hope that helped.

I just rubbed a puck over top of the lettering and it mostly stripped it off. (I picked up the idea from another post in another thread). The finish wasn't harmed. It was a CCM helment, so who knows if it will work for every manufacturer.

you can just buy these helmet made stickers that are made specifically for it. I can't remember the link. Chad put it in though.

Should be silk-screened, so maybe some rubbing compound? Then follow it up with some polish and wax

Its just like paint...i use nail polish remover and it works perfectly. The paint just fades away and leaves a nice blank helmet.

dab some on a cotton ball and start rubbing it out. The white will get lighter and lighter and eventually it fades away.

this sounds like the best. I tried using Gogone(solvent) and it fades your helmet. It took off the black bauer logos but left a weird area on my white helmet.

Doing that stuff weakens the helmet. Unless you want to void the warranty and leave yourself open to head injuries, that's a bad idea.

Your getting good advice here...Don't mess with your lid...if the logos bug you that much, cover them with tape.
