Just got these in the mail -

They did not have my size in stock so they went ahead and made me a custom pr - D/A width/heel, 10.5 L 10.75 R, 2 mm heel lift (I don't intend on profiling the RRs for pitch) felt tongue (the ones I had skated in Montreal, the tongues were a bit short) and a replacement set of standard steel (I intend on skating w/ one RR and one standard to get a feel for the weight reduction.

Interesting touch in the box - it comes with a heat sticker that you attach on the boot when in the oven- tells you when the boot is optimal for heat fitting.

They feel the same as the first time when I put them on in Montreal pre-bake - it is very reactive to heat and totally opens up when heated. I'll do it tomorrow. Other than that, the build quality is stellar.

Question to shop owners - do the RRs come pre-sharpened? These are.

kudos on the tongues.

I've only seen one pair and they belonged to a low level player who really couldn't give me much feedback on them. The walls of the skate felt surprisingly thin to me.

They had not been sharpened, which is why the customer brought them to us.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Yeah, strange to see mine sharpened, oh well, I'll just redo them anyway. They look like 5/8".

You prob got the pair they used in the skate sharpening video! ;)

When you heat mold, do not take your eyes off the sticker even for a minute. It goes from not hot to too hot in a flash, blowing right thru the OK sensor.

I keep them.

That would be Brad Stuart's stepdaughter. She's eating cake out of the Stanley Cup (this was before Drapes' kid used it as a commode) Pic's wrong on so many levels.

The number of babies over the years who have christened the Cup is astounding. Putting an infant in there is just asking for trouble.

Do they tell you were to place the sticker...or just anywhere on the boot?

They say to put it right where JR has it in the picture above your post.

Kinda figured they wouldn't leave it to chance positioning.

Damn you JR, why do you have to go and show us some new sweet pair of skates that for the most part only you can get. HAHAHA!! The tongue does make them look better.

After baking them how long before you can take them for a test run?

I've tried them on..and they're super comfortable, but I'm not a fan of all that grey/blue on the sides..

You're about 220lbs right JR? You think they'll hold up?

I'm not a fan of the screan print on the sides either but from the success that the guys on another thread are having some dye or a sharpie could fix that really quick. It did wonders for the Vapor XXXX's..

Baked them tonight, just like the ones in Montreal, they really opened up when I baked them.

Sharpened them as well - had no problems whatsoever with the RR, just had to adjust. And for those who says to be careful about heating them up, if you're good, you won't heat them up AT ALL. :) No heat, and the steel leaves a very nice edge. I was impressed on how well it sharpened.

Did it pass the JR snow test?
