dontdumpdangle 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2008 The best pair of skates i ever owned were my flexlite 12's. From the 12's I went to the one70s (hated) and then to the S15's (liked alot for the 6 months that they lasted, got two years from the 12's). I currently have the flexlite 18's but they're not as light (as my stealths, I can feel a the difference). Im getting another pair of skates soon and want to know what kind of skates are most like the old flexlite 12's. Looking to hear from former flexlite users who currently have high end skates like the XXXX's, stealths, U+'s, 9K's....... I liked the way the XXXX's felt in the store, but im not sure if they'll be to stiff for my liking. If al else fails, i'll just get another pair of stealths. aarondevera 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2008 If depth is your issue, then Graf 709/G9 series. Super-deep fitting skate, similar to the Flexlite 12. The cuff and cut of the eyelets are pretty different, however.
Warriorsdman 1 Report post Posted July 27, 2008 I think that eastwest hockey is doing a custom skate fitting tour where they will fit you for one95's, XXXX's, or flexlite 12's.
dontdumpdangle 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2008 I'm looking for a skate that is the same or lighter wieght than the 12's, but the biggest thing is the forward flex (a forward flex that is simalar to the 12's). As far as fit goes, The S15's (7.5 R) fit me perfectly stock.

Apparently the guy is going to have fitting stock and be doing fittings in his hotel room (at least thats the way I read the email). Not really sure how he is going to carry enough stock in all those sizes to really fit people in a hotel room? Something about that whole deal seems kinds of shady to me. Rustpot 1 Report post Posted July 27, 2008 It would be good for areas with little store support and a bigger market. There are 5 rinks near me, 1 shop with a very limited selection- not a single skate in my size in the place, so I have no way to be fitted for anything and still skate in poorly-fitting skates. raygunpk 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2008 A little off topic but other than getting lace bite, does having skates not deep enough affect anything else?

Griff 2 Report post Posted July 28, 2008 The weight of the skate has never been a big concern with Graf. That said if you loved the flexlites so much why not just go to your lhs and arrange for them to order you a custom pair?

I don't think Bauer would let him go into other territories but how can they know where he is. If its an e-mail list, he could just set up a private meeting through e-mail, have the skates shipped back to the store in Cali and then ship them on to the customer. Its a horrorshow. duch 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2008 When I went back to Bauers I tried the Supreme line and didn't like the fit. Went to the Vapor line and I found my skate. I commented a while back about how much they feel like Nike Flexlites, a very similar fit. If you don't think the Vapor XXXX's will do, try moving down a few notches to the XXV or the XXII like I did. I have the XXII's and they're a perfect fit and stiffness for my game. Same feel and fit as their more expensive and stiffer cousins higher up the line and still a pretty decent quality skate.

tro 4 Report post Posted July 29, 2008 I read in another thread that Europe has a Flexlite 20, which is the same as the 12 (and the 18 is the old 10, but JR's gear knowlege is slightly better than mine)I am also wondering what I will go to after my 12's breakdown. After my V12, I tried Easton, Graf and Vapors and returned to the Flex12's. For some reason I like the wide toe box with the tight heel.

dontdumpdangle 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2008 The thing is, I dont really have time to get customs now. I had been trying to get a pair of the white stealths, but the guy still hasn't sent me the spec sheet (been about a month). Training camp starts end of august, and i was hoping to get a pair now so i could break them in by then. I'm thinking of getting the XXXX's but I'm woried that they might be to stiff
