I used the Little Caesars gloves the last time out. The leather gloves take half the game to get a good sweat going to break them in as compared to today's lightweight nylon gloves which are so soft the minute you hit the ice. A lot of my other vintage gloves are like that CCM NY Rangers glove with the long cuff. The problem then is that old school elbow pads never had forearm slash pads like my current elbow pads. The long cuff runs up into the forearm slash pad. The ability to roll your wrists gets compromised by the cuff/forearm slash pad. The final thought that happens when you wear these vintage leather gloves as compared to even mid 90s Cooper Pro Nylon Knit 4 roll short cuffs is that the leather gloves weigh a ton. So, if you are looking for an upper body work out grab some old leather Cooper model 17 Black Diamond Special with Armadillo thumb gloves, vintage '66, add a nice '75 Canadien 6001 CustomFibre woody/glass Cournoyer pattern in your hands and play 90 minutes of open hockey. If you want the full work-out, lace up the '72 CCM Super Tacks with the Pro-Lite tubular steel blades. Now, you know why in those old '60s/'70s game films the NHLers look so damn slow, they had friggin' the world's heaviest equipment!

After not playing for over 20 years, I was shocked to feel how light the gloves were today, and even surprised at their shape and mobility.....hell, I was surprised at how light everything is these days. Watching the old games from the 50's and 60's, and even the 70's and 80's (when I played), it really is apparent that developments in equipment have changed the game. I can only imagine what developments in materials and manufacturing processes will bring us, as far as equipment, in the next 10, 20, 30, and 40 years from now. Maybe we will just have a forcefield around allowing us to wear shorts and a tshirt.

DS50- My dad played in the 70's and had a lot of equipment stashed away. I've got a set of tubular skates and a set of gloves with Armadillo thumbs (don't recall the brand/model). If it weren't for the palms being green they'd be with me (or probably you). The skates are still in great shape though. Looking for a set of Bauers in 12W?

It's also amazing to look at his old stuff and my cheap and low end equipment is lightyears ahead. The first time I showed him an OPS he just about hit the roof. Another friend of mine that stopped playing about the time carbon was getting popular took a look at my stick collection and freaked as well, though more so about grip coatings and varying shaft dimensions/concavity than weight and balance.

I used to own a few pair but got rid of them because I finally found my ultimate pair of gloves - my pro stock Mark Rycroft nylon Easton 4-rolls. They are feather-light and amazing flexible. Best gloves I have ever owned, hands down.

are mission M1's there top line glove? its so confusing with them.

I think the M1 Pro was the top model from that year's lineup.

Cool, I got a pair of Mission M-1 pro stocks from Erik Westrum. Too bad I can't use them in my league. They were his Leaf gloves, but my team colors are black and yellow.

Do they have any black and yellow Eagles at this sale?

And Darkstar just woke up my inner glove whore with those old pro-stock coopers. I thought I had moved on but you sucked me back in. I've got an old pair of cooper hgl 900's that I loved but are too far gone to fix so I've settled for a couple pair of bdp's from ebay

T06 was the name of the ONE90 line before the Nike/Bauer name came about. The whole thing was supposed to be the newest Nike line.

Do they have any black and yellow Eagles at this sale?

all of the blacks were long gone but they had some yellows. I think the story is that they briefly had a manager who was also an Eagle rep so he brought in a bunch of stuff thinking the kids would want it but they didn't.

shiny purple and glittery brown were some of the more unusual colors that they had.
