Yeah, there was some BS reffing going on there. I know the caps sometimes take stupid penalties, but Semin wasn't even playing last night!!!!

I'm supposed to believe the rangers didn't take a penalty from the 13 minute mark of period two, but the caps did. How Poti got 2 for diving but Lundquvist didn't get an oscar for the same thing is beyond me

you really think Poti didn't deserve a dive on that? and not for nothing, not a single penalty call made on the caps in the 2nd or 3rd was a BS hook... delay of game, high stick, dive and cross check were all legitimate calls. if you wanted to complain about the ridiculous amount of terrible off-sides calls I'd agree with you lol

Wow. The off-sides were legit. Rangers timing was off for most of the night.

I definitely agree with the Poti dive, and don't believe Lundy did at all.

Questionable calls: Ovie for the crosscheck, the naslund high stick was some drama for a cut lip that the athletic trainer had to push at to get some blood going and Green's delay of game at least looked like it was hit by someone or something but I am not positive on that one.

Rangers benefited from a lot of late hits that werent called, and some lucky bounces and the Caps didn't help their own cause with dumb penalities and sloppy passing.

The ovechkin crosscheck is something that happens all the time and doesn't get called all the time, so you can blame the refs for being inconsistent with their calls. The high stick is a high stick and its a double minor, the rule isn't written to say you need to be gushing blood for it to be called. the green play looked like a legit call to me.

As far as the off-sides calls, i was sitting behind the net so i couldn't see straight across the line, but there were several of them, from where i was sitting, that appeared to be borderline calls. There were also several calls where the linesman wasn't on the line and made the call where he was screened from the puck by the puck carrier.

Nothing annoyed me more as a ref than the guy nowhere near the blueline who bitched about my call made at the blueline.

I didn't say that. I wanted consistency, it's not that the caps penalties were not legit, but there were several rags infractions, blatant that went uncalled.

Lundqvist flopped like a fish out of water but nothing. Poti's was a call, but lundqvists should have been too.

I'm not saying the caps shouldn't be called, I just want consistency

Nice seeing the whole team on the ice to celebrate that goal.

Yeah it definitely was an awesome moment (especially as someone that loved him even when he was down in Hershey). Glad the Caps asked league permission to all go on the ice if he scored.

and a special thanks to comcast for re-showing the game at 1:30am. I forgot to Tivo it. So I avoided all major news, tv, and my cell phone until I got to watch it again.

Let's go for 9 Greenie!

I noticed that as well. His name has been popping up on the score sheet quite often recently. Has he been on the second line?

With both clark and kozlov injured he has been getting time on the 2nd

I'm happy the Caps won, but I think it was a "bad" win. They were up 2-0 and they let Florida back into the game. It seems to me that has been the case more often than not recently. They need to assert there dominance early and often like I know they are able to do, and not let the teams they are "supposed" to beat get close to them. Home ice advantage is VERY important in the playoffs for them.

Caps took some very stupid penalities but Florida has been a hot team of late so you knew they were going to stick around. Glad Ovie got the nice bounce for the hat trick but wish Greenie could've got 1 to extend the streak.

Glad to see Fehr keep driving the net.

wow. Ovie with the trick, and Eric Ferh with a 4 game goal streak now.

Apparently, during the warm up...Ovey told Vokun he'd score 2 on him. The hattie goal was EN, so I guess he didn't lie.

Alzner back to Hershey per japers rink

That makes no sense to me. I know he hasn't been as solid in this past month but if anyone deserves a seat its Shamwow for his horrific play of late and ability to get penalties at the worst times.

But Shamwow has to clear waivers, Alzner doesn't.

However, I think it's best for him to get his confidence back in Hershey, he has looked indecisive since his call back up again. His first stint with the team he looked calm, poised and confident. I think this recent call up, he has been more worried about getting sent back down than he has playing his brand of hockey, and it's hurt him.

I guess I ment why not bench Shamwow for his great play of late. I understand the logistics of Alzner and he hasn't played as great but he does need NHL games to make that jump.

Guys like Schultz and Mo have gotten the games and still arent showing a lot this year.

Id rather Mo get picked up off waivers by an eastern team like the rags, then if we meet them in the playoffs, we can score easier. <_<

Or at least get a lot more chances for our PP unit to shine.
