Thanks for the support guys, very very appreciated. As for my situation right now, I think I have the skills, the skating and the vision to do something good in pro in the upcoming years. My only real weak point was that I was not a strong person physically. I was a late bloomer also physically so that wasn't helping. So, in the last 2 years, I've worked extremely hard following a strict regimen to get stronger while still improving my skills along the way and I'm very pleased with the results. At 6 feet 2, I was about 165-170 2 years ago and now I'm up to 195 lbs which is a lot more decent even though I would like to get 15-20 pounds bigger in the next 2-3 years. So I'd say I'm pretty confident heading to camp and I'll do my best enjoying the ride and I'll see what happen. If I need to go to a lower level to prove myself, I'll do it but I think I'm ready now to bring something to the table for an AHL team.

I'll keep in touch with you guys and if some of you MSHers come and see me, just come and I say hi, I'll be pleased with it.

If some members have questions, go with it and I'll answer it when I have time...

Thanks again,

Pascal

Best of luck. See ya Dec 11th... ;)

I'll be at that game aswell!

Great news and well deserved, good luck.

Funnily enough I read this at HockeyBuzz and came over here to post it but you already have your own thread!

Good luck.

I received an interesting piece of news on Friday when I learned the Blues have invited Pascal Perron to attend Peoria's American League camp. Pascal is in fact the older brother of Mr. Dangles himself David Perron.

David tells me Pascal is bigger, faster, and stronger than he is with just as much skill but was never given the chance to prove he belongs at this level. The Blues figure they have nothing to lose by inviting the older Perron to their AHL camp and see if in fact they find a diamond in the rough. I think it’s a smart play by John Davidson and company.

Pascal has never played professional hockey and never played major junior either. I had first heard of the possibility of the Blues offering Pascal an invite a few weeks ago and on Friday Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald got everything finalized.

The elder Perron is 23 years old.

With a first name like Pascal you have to make the NHL and play for Montreal. ;)

Hmmmm ... if I have a second kid Pascal Pontbriand sounds kinda french no?

With a name like Pontbriand, I would have said you were French. I know of a couple French-Canadian's whose last name is Briand and Pont is bridge, IIRC. You sure your aren't french and just didn't realize? ;) ;

does anyone have a link to his infamous stickhandling video? "boy put some pants on!"? I can't find it anywhere..

http://www.youtube.com/user/Kovy27Ribs71

Are these them?

No, IIRC he had electric green hotpants on (maybe pink) and was doing the puck-triangle exercise in the corner of a room.

yeah i remember that one as well - i think everyone was busting his balls about it so then he went and made these other ones instead.

someone will find it eventually :P

DAVENPORT, IOWA -- Marek Schwarz went the distance in his first start of the 2008 AHL preseason to lead the Peoria Rivermen to a 2-1 sudden-death shootout victory Thursday over the Quad City Flames at Quad City Sports Center.

Schwarz stopped six of seven Flames in the shootout, the last two, against Dan Ryder and Mike Hamilton, in sudden-death.

Peoria won it on a pair of shootout goals from center Alex Imbeault, who scored in both the regular and sudden-death portions of the tiebreaker.

The Rivermen took a 1-0 lead after a strong forecheck, during which Pascal Perron drew the Quad City defense toward him, then set up Robin Richards at the net, where the latter slipped a shot between the pads of goaltender Leland Irving at 3:59 of the second period.

Quad City's only goal came on a five-on-three power play from Hamilton at 10:48 of the second period. Ryder's shot from the point forced a rebound, and Hamilton filled an open net.

The Rivermen killed 10 of 11 Quad City power plays.

Peoria finishes its preseason Saturday with a game at Rockford. The Rivermen open the regular-season Oct. 10 at Iowa.

The Rivermen will practice this morning at 10 a.m. in Carver Arena. The parent club St. Louis Blues, who are holding part of their NHL training camp in Peoria, will skate in Carver Arena at 11:45 a.m.

The only downside to being in the pros is that you will have to cover those white skates up! ;)

and i gotta ask the mandatory question - what stick are you using?

It *kinda* looks like a CCM from the logo under his top hand, but it's hard to tell....
