Recommended Posts

hey didn't want to start a new thread with this here...I know its recommended to bake one skate at a time for 2.5min at 200 degrees, but I was just wondering if there where any other recommendations for baking the one95 thanks.

If that is what is recommended by NBH that is the way you should do it, unless you want to potentially void your $600 skates warranty while possibly hurting the skate boot itself.

I'm going to go get my one95s today, When Baking them should I wear my normally hockey sock or should i go sock less ?

Don't go sock-less. I speak from experience. A hot eyelet and bare skin is not a good combination.

also, its a good idea to stand after baking with these skates. When I bake these at the store I go a bit overboard.

1. preheat oven

2. Put Right skate in oven 2.5 min while left skate is on customers foot, unbaked.

3. Put baked right skate onto customers foot, laced up, have them stand up for one minute.

4. Have customer sit down, take left skate off, put in oven 2.5 minutes.

5. Put baked left skate on, stand for 1 minute.

6. Sit until completely cooled (10-15 minutes usually)

I doubt it's that big of a deal

Who knows how accurate ovens are anyways, I doubt they are spot on

I think I might take the temp of the oven when I bake mine

this is what JR told me & what I did successfully:

Preheat, then run it for 4 min, throw one skate in.

Throw the second skate 30 seconds after the first one.

Pull the first skate out at 3 minutes, lace up, by the time you're done, pull the other skate 30 sec later, lace up. Stand. Sit.

It's pretty simple.

BTW I'm pretty sure it's 3 mins - not 2.5... Also standing with one skate on is uncomfortable, not to mention that pressure angles aren't the same

Good point, don't want to potentially miss-mold something this expensive.

is this Standing technique the usual case for the one95's only?

I remember getting my Vapors baked and I was told to not move or stand up for at least 10 minutes

I was told the same thing when I got my Vapors. They made it very clear that I was not to stand until they were cool.
