New Elbow pads

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for recommendations for inexpensive elbow pads that provide decent support. I only play mens league hockey now with no checking, but don't want a broken elbow pad when I get knocked down in front of the net. My main concern is something that won't slide up and down my arm a lot.

Can anyone recommend a few options so I can find them at Local shops and try the fit.

Thanks,

James

I just got back into things after 30+ years. Went with Easton S7 elbow pads. Fit well and good protection. Price isn't bad either if you search around the net/eBay.

Either the RBK 5k's , Easton S-7's or Itech 695's are a good bet for decent protection and reasonable price.

I needed now elbow pads recently and picked up some Easton ST4's. They are wonderful, they don't slide up or down my arm at all and off tons of protection. For only $22 would recommend them.

I think the RBK 4K elbow pads are a great bang for the buck. They are a hardcap elbow with three straps and the elbow cup is deep which will minimize them shifting or twisting on your arm. Also you could pick them up for about $30 so how can you beat that.

I can vouch for the 4k's as well. I've never had any problems with them shifting, because of the deep elbow cup like theWB said. Good protection as well, with plastic inserts on the forearm and bicep. Plus they have a nice hard elbow cap if you take a good spill. Great elbow pads for the money. I think I paid $25 for them at the local shop.

My vapor 25s have been real nice to me. They're something to at least try on if you're buying retail. Very snug, no movement and a real hard elbow cap that comes in handy when i see that guy charging me from across the ice =]

I wear the 5ks and I think they have good protection while not being as bulky as the 9ks.

I'm also rockin the 5k's and they offer pretty decent protection and if I can remember are fairly cheap.

Me too. The 5k's are a great pad.

Are the 9k's quite bulky when on?

No. I have the 9K's. I totally love them. The absolute best protection on the market, great extension down the forearm. I don't feel restricted at all but I'm more of a grinder than a finesse guy.

One90's

Seem to stay in place the best that I've tried so far

I've never had elbow pads that stay on the entire time though, I only have to pull these up once or twice in an hour so it's not bad.
