ArcArsenal 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2009 10-15 minutes for me. Makes getting sharpenings and stuff more convenient...but hurts the wallet with all the stuff I buy while waiting.
RecLeagueHero 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 For normal stuff like tape, a skate sharpen, maybe a stick it's about 30 minutes. If I am going to do major gear buying I go up to Cyclone Taylor's in Vancouver which is about a 3 hour drive, depending on how busy customs is. I tend to just buy a complete set of gear and stock up on extras when I go up there for new skates. It'd be great to get a shop like that down here, but I doubt it would work finanically. Rink Rat 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2009 10-15 minutes, it's a perani's at my home rink (ann arbor ice cube). Then there is a huge perani's warehouse about 30-45 minutes away, and then other random pro shops at rinks within an hour from me. It's good to be in michigan... RonLopez 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2009 About 40 minutes (subway) from home, 20 from work to the place where I get my skates sharpened and buy tape (West Side Skate Shop). About 1.5 hours to the only shop around here worth going (Wesco Sports). There's a store about 15 minutes from my house in Brooklyn, but they suck hard and they're over priced. I'm talking CCM/Heaton 8s for $900 last time I was there, about 6 months ago.

It's good to be in michigan...I've been driving to taylor for peranis, or livonia for peranis and ACE, didn't know there was a peranis in ann arbor. I live about 20 minutes north of ann arbor, except when Im at school at CMU. How good is the peranis in AA, is it the giant emporium that is livonia or taylor? or is it a measley pro shop? It's their main warehouse location, but like JR said...also filled to the brim with closeouts but it still is a huge store, which I hear they've added on a little bit from the last time I was there a year or so ago.
