I have a pair of Bauer X60 skates with the XXXX graphic package Would it be ok to show pics?

They look pretty good!

I don't know if I'm allowed to ask this, but how do they stack up compared to the old ones? The gel stuff seems like it might take on some water, no?

Do you think any of the differences have more to do with the skates being pro stock rather than the X:60's? I wonder how much of the look and how many of the features find their way to the retail version.

Either way, awesome skates!

He said it "almost feels like gel." Bauer is not using a gel to lock in your heel/ankle. There are a lot of positives going on within this skate to make it work. The X:60 "look" will be different. The features of the skate are different from the XXXX. The pair I tried on in October fit great. I would have loved to have baked them right then and used them immediately. FWIW, I wear Supreme ONE95s and the X:60 had a great fit/feel to it for me. Again, the X:60 boot may not fit every one. Those guys with the flat Fred Flintstone feet may be in trouble if they are waiting for X:60s. However, most people do have an arch in their foot. If Vapors have fit you well before, then you should have no problem moving into X:60s.

While I like the term, I still like to refer to my "hobbit feet" :P

How will the fit around the ankles be compared to the current Supreme line?

Wow, Bauer is really getting to people with this X60 secrecy. I've seen them and they really aren't that awesome as far as looks go in my opinion. They do look better than the XXXX's though. The One95 still has the best look in their line up, followed by the FL4.........

But you're talking about it, right?

And that's the point.

Fair enough, I realize that; but Im more or less talking about the hype. Bauer X60's, iphones, Nissan Skylines ( the hype is not overrated in this auto's case), etc. Its all about marketing and getting the word out.

I love the look of that tendon guard, it looks sharp

Is it just me or does it look like it has the ability to flex backwards?

Just to clarify a few thing on these skates I never said it was gel i Said it felt like gel. The liner does remind me of the new G series in graf a little bit but seems tighter woven and stronger. Draper Does not have bricks for feet. He Actually has very normal feet, I compared a pair of Draper XXXX to the Dress up version to show differences. The liner reminds me a little of the S15 material and padding as well.

It's a dual-density foam.

Oooooh ok! That makes much more sense now. I misinterpreted and thought it was like gel. My excitement for these skates has dropped a bit, but they should be pretty awesome anyways.

So, is this where the NME prototype ended up, or vice-versa?

Um, no.

Um, Ok.

I mean, everyone keeps on asking that same question and it's just frustrating. Mission Ice has gone the way of the dodo. Plus, Bauer has had this skate mapped out for at least two years. Not only that, you're going from a company that has damn near 70% of the NHL's market share to a company that had less than 15 skaters in the NHL in their boots. No offense, but Bauer did not buy Mission for the NME technology.

The tendon guard does not have the ability to flex backwards. Not in any of the pairs I saw for fit stock in October.

The 70% Bauer stat is fact. That leaves 5 brands chasing 30%. and one brand, Mission, as JR says, is DOA.
