Warrior Custom Sticks

Recommended Posts

I got my hands on a new pro-stock dolomite and I'm extremely pleased with it. The only thing I would change is that I was told it's a "stiff" flex and would prefer a shaft with a little more flex. Since Warrior is very custom friendly in the customizing of gloves and pants, I was wondering if anyone has any experience or information with getting custom sticks done....ie minimum order, cost, and if I could get this pro model made for me. Just wondering.

I posted this earlier under the Warrior Catalog thread and got no responses. Someone on here knows the answer to this question. A little help please.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do NOT believe that Warrior nor any other manufacturer will make custom sticks for retail customers.

NikeBauer ID is technically custom.

No, it's technically an upcharge for more choices with your name on the stick. They will not let you choose your own pattern and without the kiosk or someone here knowing the patterns, it's a crapshoot trying to guess off the animated pictures, rounded lies, and poor descriptions.

"Custom" would be something not currently offered at retail, and since ID is a made-to-order retail it is not custom.

To be clear, I'm not asking Warrior to manufacture a twig pattern and set up that I've dreamed up. I have a pro model dolo that I really like. I just want the shaft in a lower flex. I'm sure that Warrior already makes the stick I want for some other pro player. Just interested to know if anyone knows how I can get my hands on them. Anyone got a hook at Warrior?

Short answer, they won't do it.

Ive seen that happen ONCE with a guy I know. The pattern he wanted was the Smyth retail...and then he picked shaft shape, graphics, flex. He knew the rep for his area well enough I guess and he made it happen...maybe contact the rep in your area? Whats the worst thats going to happen.

The problem is these stories get out and everyone expects the same treatment

I don't think its that special of treatment. Getting gloves and skates produced to ones exact specifications is "special treatment" that most companies do for a charge. I'm glad they do. I'm sure there is a nice market for custom work and they make profits from it. If it wasn't worth their while, they wouldn't offer it.

What I'm asking for they may have in a warehouse or in a bundle of sticks that a certain pro did not like or changed to a different manufacture and now has a few dozen laying around they want to move. If there is a market for people to buy a product or a service I'm sure the companys will entertain it. That's probably why NB offered their ID program. They probably sold quite a few sticks just because people wanted their name stamped on them.

I worked for a pro shop back in the day. The rep would always try to hook us up a bundle of twigs that weren't available retail to try out. We paid for them but, it was cool having sticks noone else had at high end quality. Of course that was over a decade ago and I'm sure things have changed.

I'm sure someone from Warrior frequents this site and may have some input.

We asked a couple people from Warrior at the show and they said they had no plans to implement a NikeID type of setup. They also told us that the pro division is separate from retail. Just because something may exist does not mean you can get it.

I don't think its that special of treatment.

Of course you don't, it's for you.

Not trying to get personal here but....I've always been extremely appreciative of what I've gotten from the hockey world and what I've been able to do for others. This is the one sport where people are almost always willing to help a brother out and go the distance. I appreciate all the info that was provided on the link. If I came of as glib that was not my intention. I think the site is great and will continue to read it daily. As for the answer to this question... I guess I'll have to try to call in some favors with friends who were in the show. If I find anything out. I'll be sure to post it.

thanks.

I've wondered this.. I love the Dolomite blades I have in a Vyborny curve. You often see it mentioned on here about getting a setup fee for the mould, but surely seeing as they obviously do already have the mold you'd summise it wouldn't take much to produce another batch (even if it is another 12 or whatever, I'd still have them). I'm guessing from whats already been mentioned in this thread that not only are OPS's not available but neither are blades with pro curves for retail customers.

shame :(

Every company should have a Nike Bauer ID system offering more curves and options. Today people are more concerned with equipment and the game and so much is made of equipment now it makes sense to at least have it as an upcharge option. I just cant believe that Warrior is killing the Smyth pattern its such a nice curve and there is nothing else like it.

Not sure where you guys are getting your info from but its definitely possible to order custom warrior sticks. I guess you just need to know the right person or your LHS as to be willing to make a few phone calls to make it happen. I've had a couple customers come in with pro stock sticks they got somewhere else. I called my rep with the players name that was on the stick and the flex and weight ratings stamped on the back. Minimum order of 12 sticks

At the show they said there was no way to make it happen without getting the pro department involved and that wasn't possible. That came from a couple different people at warrior.

Like i said i guess you have to know the right people or the reps have to put the call in a certain way to make it happen.. The pro department gets involved for college orders we do so maybe it got put in under a college program. Not sure how it happened because i never really asked for details, all i know is that it did.

We know the right people. And those right people told us what the deal was.

Obviously if you are doing college orders it is a different situation. But for a REGULAR retail account, it can't be done.

The two orders i did werent for college orders but were more then likely put in under a college program to make it happen. I'm sure Warrior wants to have limits as to who can access their custom department and im sure thats why they wont allow retailers to order custom sticks. Im simply saying when theres a will theres a way, might not happen for everyone but for a select few it can
