Easton Stealth CNT

Recommended Posts

Name one stick Easton has made that is better than the Stealth CNT for overall performance..

The S17 is a pile of garbage unless you can afford a new stick every 2 weeks

We'll see how the new stick coming out in October addresses the durability issues of the S17

It is odd that they replaced their ultra low kickpoint stick with a high kickpoint stick and left their other stick the same, then brought back the ST. So maybe they'll bring back the Stealth? But the SE16 seems to be a good stick and a lot of people did like the S17.

It would probably be better if they simplified the line to a Synergy and Stealth, made the Stealth a low kickpoint lightweight performance stick (like it used to be) and made the Synergy a higher kickpoint durable stick (between the SE16 and ST). But if they kept the Stealth, the S17 probably would have flopped. Oh well.

I'd just love an Easton stick with a blade that would last a couple weeks or months. Great sticks, amazing shafts, good feel for the puck ... then the blade will break.

I use to only use Easton now I have switched over to NBH (and unfortunately they are gone as a whole) because my one90 has lasted longer than 4-6 easton sticks I broke during the same time frame.

The S17 is the newest stick in the Stealth line.

I know, I'm just saying if they kept the S17 and Stealth, the S17 probably would have flopped. It's a totally different stick. And I also don't use Easton because of the blade issues.

I use Easton ST OPSs and ST/Ultra Lite shafts exclusively. I haven't been able to become as comfortable with any other stick. I enjoy the feel of the ST, and don't mind the extra weight.

Extra weight isnt bad. I have a CNT Stealth that is only 415 grams, and my TPS XN10 chrome feels just as light even though it is something akin to 30 grams heavier.

when a company releases something like an elliptical taper, they have to fully commit to the technology in order to show the customer that its not a gimmick. if they still had the CNT or original stealth in the line, people would stick with the "safe" choice. for those of us who have used the stealth since it's inception, and i speak for myself here, we felt like we NEEDED to buy the S17, because we've been happy with the product in the past (and how could something like a stealth hockey stick possibly get WORSE?). regardless of reviews, i was an early adopter because the stealth has been a great stick in versions past. had i been new to the stealth line, or possibly a supporter of warrior or nbh, i'd probably be a bit weary of the ellipse (just like i was totally weary of the o-stick).

fortunately, or unfortunately, it all comes down to marketing and perceived value. you have to force your customers to that new stick, or else people will shy away from it.

The new one will be similar to the S17 with some improvements, including the blade.

where u find info about the new one???

there was mention in another thread that an easton rep made the comment on increased durability

Original stealth -best stick EVER!

fully agree. broke my last one on the receiving end of a high slash (between the gloves), on sunday.

meaningless game, too. we were winning 9-3 at that point.

Better blade too.. As for the CNT, there is a reason why LHS's are able to sell their old supply of CNTs for $200 a stick

It seems that people usually prefer the previous generation sticks. When the S19 comes out, people are going to be talking about how it sucks and the S17 was a fantastic stick. It was only a little while ago when people disliked the CNT but loved it once the S17 was released. <_<

I've never disliked the CNT, and I highly doubt anyone will be like, "ooh we loved the S17" Other than short-term performance, the S17 is garbage

I did love the S17 until the blade went, hated the CNT, and loved the original Stealth Grip. I've found the One95 to be the closest thing that I've found to the S17 characteristics. Could be why I've noticed quite a few pros who have gone between the two.

I must have been pretty lucky, because the first CNT I bought lasted almost a year before the blade finally disintegrated. Thankfully, another member here had a brand new one he was willing to part with :)

I dont have anything of value to add to this thread other than I dont think I could own a stick that sounds like "****".

You could have just said you don't have anything of value to add and left it at that. Or you could have just not posted anything. Would have been even better. But instead you had to grace us with your razor-sharp wit. Yay.

I lucked out and got a CNT for a Play It Again Sports here in AZ. Bought it brand new for $60 cuz the guy had no idea how much it really cost. Needless to say, I love that stick more than any other stick I've used before. I got the Sakic 100 flex and that thing has been to hell and back. If you ever see one, buy it.
