I think chicago was quoting the Brooks Laich picture.

Brooks Laich is using a straight up One95 skate. Pothier and Erskine also switched to the One95.

Thats because they are the best!

On the plus side JR, you won't have to get a heel lift on those things.

Most certainly not, since you'd be so light in your loafers to rock those anyway.

was watching the Wednesday game highlights last night, and I think it ws the TBL vs Habs with the big fight. Looked like one of the guys that went into the locker room was wearing retail 10k elbow/chest pads

That's Victor Hedman. He's been in them since camp.

uni watch has some neat looks inside the minnesota wild dressing room/stick room.

wheres the skateguards for the skates hanging up?

They generally don't use them except for travel. They serve two purposes- to protect the blades from things hitting them and to keep the blades from cutting other things, neither of which are important if they're hanging in the air with nothing in contact with the blade.

Tell that to Dan Boyle.

Yeah, I'm sure he insists on keeping them on while hanging up now.

Strictly speaking though, the skate wasn't hanging anymore at that specific point in time...
