Mismatching stripes on the Isles' pants. vs shell:

http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2009/1122/nhl_g...tavares_576.jpg

Both made by the same parent company, too.

Actually, the telltale sign is the RBK logo. That was from last year.

When the throwback alternate came out, the shell to the right (not Tavares) was the shell used, then it was changed because it wasn't the right style.

I went to the Women's Hockey East All-Star game today against the US Olympic team. Number 11 (Chesson) for the US squad was wearing what I'm pretty sure were TotalOnes dressed up as One95s. They were all black (no silver piece near the ankle) except for the blue tendon guard but it was definitely shaped differently. They were definitely not s9s either. The boot looked like it had a ton of volume. I cant find a photo but this might be something to start looking for at the pro level. Also, I noticed that a bunch of the players on the national team had really small bauer text on the cuff rolls. Does this have something to do with Olympic/IIHF regulations?

just dropped by the Source for Sports in Surrey and I was pretty suprised to find a couple of Ryan Kesler one95 prostock sticks. The odd thing about them is not only the p92 curve (I always thought he used a pm9) but the intermediate dimensions and 62 flex. It came up to my nose and I'm 5'7"! I guess he was screwing around with different flexes and curves at the beginning of the season? Anyone have any input on that?

So perhaps my perception of the volume was off. Is it reasonable to think that she would have access to these skates despite having not seen/noticed them at the pro level yet?

Sure, well, I mean, hell, who knows, a beer leaguer might have access to those skates before they have been seen at the pro level...

I'm pretty sure they're just SMU's because they have them in varying flexes too.

I dunno, one of our members was telling me their LHS got Stamkos' sticks and they don't sound like what he uses. Might be a territorial SMU thing if that is the case.

Are you hinting at something JR? Perhaps a demo set that you've been given, or something?

Nah.

Toronto got a bunch of Schenn and Kane One95s that look like prostock but have to be SMU

How do you figure they "have" to be SMU?

i saw the kane and schenn sticks. I asked the owner and he said they were SMUs. Schenn sticks were in a left curve and he shoots right

JR, looks like the Stammer ones at my LHS are the real deal. Saw some pics of his current one95 and they are red now instead of gold, same looking curve, flat black surface on the blade.

Some places in Montreal also received some Malkin and Komisarek SMU sticks.

The name on the shaft is to look like pro stock, but the stick itself is retail.

My LHS has a ton of new RH Kronwall One95's in a P14/Black/Red and Stamkos' in PM9/silver/black, both available in left/right.

These are RH only, no retail graphics on the blade, matte black finish, red silver graphics. They got 32 of them I believe. I think they bought all of the available ones.

They are territorial SMU's, ask Evan. Hockeymonkey had some - Staal, Malkin, and Kane in both left/right and varying flexes.

The Kesler one's at the hockey shop are definitely SMU's.
