I also just received my Marc Stall stick from the red vs white game and it's a 107

Arnott Easton 120

With a couple exceptions it hovers around 110. I've felt one first gen Synergy that was 120 but everything else has been a 110 at most. His S17s are around 105 now tho, old age and all.

True to that.

I ran into former NHL player Alyn McCauley last year. We were talking about various hockey topics and he mentioned that when he started out he was using 110 flex but due a shoulder injury and age he went down to 100 flex, 95 flex, 90 flex and ended at 85 flex.

He also told me that Brett Hull uses 67 flex not 65

And one of the guys that used to provide the sticks to Hull said he used 62.

At one point most of his 9ks were mostly wood plug under the tape job, this one looks like it could be as well.

That was earlier when it was released. I've seen several that were hollow at the top. Judging from the way the tape rolls in a bit at the top I'd say it's the same as I saw that was hollow with a bit over the end curled some into the shaft. The plugged sticks I saw were pretty square tape jobs. Unless you're spotting a fuse point in there.

A lot of the sticks of his that I've seen were also heavily pine-tarred or gooed in some fashion. That link has it from the taper down, but I've seen sticks of his coated fully to where you can only tell what stick it is from some green coming through where it was worn off and the holes in the stick. You could also take the sticks and line them up and the curves on some would be mildly different. He either likes to change things or just doesn't care and tweaks the stick when it "needs" it.

Does he really use a wood plug that long? I knew he added a wood plug on the top, but not one that long.

He did for a while when the 9k was being developed and released. The originals were horribly blade heavy. The sorted out the weight issue, I could tell the difference between the first set to arrive at my LHS and a stick I got a year or so later. They still exploded in the blade, I don't know if that was their weight saving measure killing durability or if they were terrible blades from the start with excess material in the taper from the holes.

It sure looks like there is a change in the shaft shape where the two types of tape meet and it doesn't look like he's using enough tape to explain the "bump".

I had several Warrior Wes Walz pro stock Dolos and all were listed at 440, which equated to 'retail' flex put it around 60.

What I wouldn't give for another 3 or 4 or them now.
