One95 vs X60 stick

Recommended Posts

Im using a one95 now and I like it very much, great stick with great durability. But im curious about the x60. Is it a repainted vapor xxxx or is different. How does it compaire to the one95. I know about low kickpoint to mid kickpoint which doesn't seem to effect my shot in the slightest. Any other info would be great. Im always looking to try new sticks sence no stick model these days seem to last much more than a year or so.

X60 is alot different than the XXXX and the One95, I've used all 3 and I think the X60 is the best of all 3. Ive only used it a few skates, but its balanced very well, I like the feel of it, and I can shoot harder than I can with the XXXX and One95 of same curve and flex.

I am also curious about this stick and especially the shaft since I could possibly get a pretty good deal on one. Any reports are appreciated!

how is the feel and flex? Do you have any comparison to other tapered shafts? How does it shoot? Is it a repainted XXXX shaft or is it different? How light is it? What blade do you have it paired with and how is the balance?

That kinda thing ;)

Well mines is an OPS, but it is not even close to a XXXX, so much lighter. It feels lighter than the S19 and S17. Its very well balanced. It shoots good, I was using 10ks and Dolos before this and it kicks alot harder than either of those. I have an 87 and its cut right above the 96 flex mark and it seems pretty true.

I've had both the one95 and X:60 for months, I've used the XXXX, XXXlite and Vapor XXX. The X:60 is different than all the previous Vapor sticks.

The X:60 is a more rounded shaft shape and is extremely lightweight and well balanced. The blade is really lively, with little feedback from the blade. In puck feel, it feels like a S17... not very good at all. The stick shoots very well. The flex feels as rated if not a little stiffer.

The one95 is less rounded than the X:60 but not square. It's lighter than the one90 and well balanced. It shoots well but is whipper than the rated flex. The one95 has some of the best puck feel on a OPS. It's not as good as the Mission Pulse was but it's damn good.

I like the one95 more. Both sticks kick hard and are well balanced but I prefer the one95.

You're the only one and 1st i heard complaining about the the s17 puck feel. Since you are talking about several month i assume it must be prostock or those x60 dressed in one95.

Indeed the s17 doesn't last long, but when it's new and "fully fonctional" , to me it's clearly the best puck feel ever. It reminds me Titan stick blade B) . In short it's fucking nervous and precise. Except the ccm u+ there's absolutely no stick with a comparable feeling.

About the x60, i have a slightly different experience. To me there's nothing to compare btw one95/x60, kick points are completely different, if you grew up like me with wood sticks it can be very hard to get used to very low kick point (the x60 is not that low though). And indeed, a one 95 will always kick better due to its higher KP.

But among the low KP sticks, overall x60 is probably the best out there. It's very light, puck feel is like the one90 meaning something very stiff and response but somehow not as refined/sophisticated that a s17 and it doesnt have the sissy soft blade of the one95, it's extremely well balanced (opposite of xxxx) and it seems quite durable (but it's a bit too soon to tell). To me it seems flawless. Only question mark is on the durability. But as I said before, i saw quite a lot of X60 this season in KHL whereas i've never seen a single xxxx in previous ones.

The thing to keep in mind is that puck feel is 100% relative to the person using the stick and what other sticks you've used. At first, the 10k felt weird to me after using a lot of blade lively sticks, but I now love it's puck feel. The s17 was the same way. The one95, IMO, is still the best on the market, even though the x60 is very good. They're just different, personal preference. And sticks do have an adjustment period, it's foolish for anyone to give up on a stick saying they didn't like it after one use (something I used to do, dumbass!).

I hated the feel of the S17

Huh? That's one of the most ridiculous things I've heard.

Also, how can you think that the S17 feels like a wood stick?

While I'm fully aware that puck feel is completely personal preference, there is some consensus that the S17's puck feel is garbage and that the one95 is one of the best out there.

I got my hands on X60 today at my LHS and just from holding it TBL sounds about right. Thin rounded shaft, very light and balanced. If it feels like the S17 I want nothing to do with it. IMO S17 was very sensitive and lively "PINGY" great for people with good hands, not me. I love the soft feeling of one95. Also like the Squared shaft better than rounded. I would have to go to stickem if I went X60 because it felt so slippery with glove on. Thanks for the good feedback guys.

"Pingy" just doesn't feel good, you don't get the feedback you do with a "softer" blade. I don't mind a "pingy" blade at all but that doesn't change the fact that the X:60 (and the S17 for that matter) doesn't have good feel for the puck. Try a wood stick or a Mission Pulse, then try to honestly tell me that the X:60 has good puck feel by comparison.

How's the X60 replacement blade? Has anyone tried it?

I love the Gagne curve, but hated the XXXX blade. I did not like the puck feel at all. I love the idea of a One95 taperred shaft with a X60 Gagne blade, but only if the blade has been improved.

Thought I do not own one, one of the guys on my men's league team purchased an X60 this week. Does anyone else feel reminded of the old Innovative Tru-1 stick when using the X60? Granted I only used his stick for two shifts, but I had a lot of puck time and a couple shots on those shifts and it really reminded me of the old Tru-1 which is to this day my favourite stick ever released.

What do you think the Vapor XXX was? Everything since that in the vapor line has just been an evolution of the design.

Well said, upon first holding the x-60, I thought it was a clone of the vapor 30 lite.

Yes! The XXXX was brutal, but I loved my XXX-Lites. I bought up 6 when they went on sale, and now I am down to just one. Can't wait for that UPS truck to get here tomorrow...

So let's get down to it here and see if anyone really knows. What is the TRUE difference between the XXXX and X:60? Don't feed me Bauer's bullcrap about TeXtreme carbon fiber, PureShot blades, or IntelliSense Shot Technology.... most of the experienced players and members of this site know that selling sticks now is ALL about marketing, fancy technology names, and having the top players use repainted versions of the newest sticks.

What is THE difference? Anyone hear anything from a good Bauer rep or know someone within the industry? Holding the X:60 side by side with a XXXX today, it felt to me for the first few seconds that they were the same stick. However, I think this was due to the rounded shaft profile, slick finish, and overall feel. But after I played around with them both for a bit, it felt that the X:60 may have just been a hair thinner, barely more rounded corners, slightly less blade heavy, and overall lighter than the XXXX.

The reason I ask about the difference is because I'm considering the shaft version of the X:60, but HATED the feel of the XXXX stick. Not sure what the XXXX shaft felt like and I know that stick feel is heavily dependent upon the blade (which the XXXX's sucked terribly). What about an X:60 shaft with Warrior tapered blade?

I've tried both, like everyone else is saying the balance of the x60 is good and its extremely light but i'm in love with my one95. The x60 has better balance and is lighter but my one95 has perfect puck feel and puts just enough pop it my shots, and in my opinion that is a lot more important than weight and balance

Scotty-

I should be taking delivery of my X:60 shaft tomorrow. I got an 87 flex and am going to be pairing it with an Easton SE16 blade. I have practice Thursday morning so I will let you know the initial reactions. Yes, the XXXX OPS sucked. Terribly.

Looking forward to it. I'm interested in the puck feel and how the flex/low kickpoint feel.
