Affordable Standard Hockey shafts?

Recommended Posts

I understand most shafts are like 150 max which isnt bad but my parents are on my ass for being a gear whore and buying so many sticks so I'd like to know of a good but affordable shaft that i wont get ripped on for having.

So you already have a bunch of sticks atm, but your asking for a suggestion, for a good cheap shaft that your parents won't complain (too much) about you buying.

That sounds like a big-time gear whore to me. haha.

If you've broken all your sticks, and thus actually in need of good cheap shaft... 1. I'm sorry. 2. Tapered- Rbk 8k . Standard- Rbk 6k or Bauer One95.

What's the max you can spend?

I'm not sure like 119.99 or so. Im poppin a wood one90 blade in it which is standard.

I also have troubles finding shafts so if anyone knows where to get some good ones in ontario let me know lol

Are you looking to get high end sticks? CCM and Bauer Supreme are close to the lowest prices for shafts.

What high end shafts does ccm make anyway?

haven't seen many around here if any

The Bauer One95 shaft is around $85 or less and is excellent. Very light, great feel, works very well. However, despite reports that its durability is good, there are other reports that say no. It hasn't been out quite long enough to determine one way or the other definitively.

Your other excellent option is the Easton ST shaft, which used to be the Ultra Lite and has been around since the late 90s. Simply a tank of a shaft because its durability has been proven MANY times over the past decade, but also light at 280 grams. It's simply your ultimate original standard shaft that has merely gone through many color changes and now a name change for this past year. Also around $85.

The One95 has excellent durability. I'm not sure why some people say it is not durable when most people who play a lot of hockey understand that it is a great shaft. I think for $85, The One95 shaft is hard to beat. I bought the X60 shaft tonight and it is pretty good too. Some people are going to jump all over me for this, but I think Bauer really has taken the lead in my mind when it comes to producing good shafts and OPS sticks, especially the One95 Supreme line. I'm getting rid of all my Warrior, Easton and RBK sticks. I'll stick with the One95 shaft and P92 blade setup along with the X60 shaft and P92 blade setup.

85 american maybe. I'm pretty sure ST and one95 are 119.99 here in Canada. I like the feel of the ST but it looks way to much like a cheap old sc6. I really liked that new ST Mike Green has been using, doe anyone know if there will be an ST shaft like that and when and where I could find one?

Also im open to more shaft options

I have had an Easton UL for a couple of years and the thing is a tank. Of course, I have only been playing for 4.5 years starting as an adult, so there isn't a whole lot of power in my shots either.

It's a good moderate choice in my opinion. I think the Synergy ST is the current version of it.
