Well got my skates today. Got them in the oven and played a game of pick-up with them. I was coming from 0ne95's with heel lifts. So my first time out was a bit different then what I have been use to, waiting on the new lifts to come for the totalone. This is also my first time try out FBV went with 100/50. I am starting with the xstiff inserts. I was very impressed with the quality of the boot itself. Very well put together even with being made in Thailand. At first It took a bit of getting use to, I think not having the lifts or try the fbv for the first time I had a bit of trouble with cutting and cross-overs. I skating on them for about 45 mins. I must say I am in love with them, as stated the first few strides feel like I am moving forward quicker, I did get the nice springboard or pop back feeling. I should have the lifts in Monday so I can really put them to a good test. I will let you know. Are they worth the $800 Yes and No. No skate should cost that much but like with anything when you bring technology into play, the price tag is more for the R and D going into making the product than just the finished product itself.

Skated with the new guys today and definitely noticed the weight reduction between these and my old one75s. Skating in a straight line was great! Had no problems with any part of skating actually, but I definitely noticed the stiff walls of the boots (especially when transferring weight from side-to-side), and I'm definitely sure that with some break in time they be off the charts amazing. Love EM! :)

I know some have already been posting in the intial thoughts thread about getting theirs, but I thought it might be good to have a thread specifically for "BRAGGING" or "owning up" to actually dropping the dough.

At first I had no interest in this skate...then I held one and was hooked. I got mine today but haven't skated on them yet. This week is going to be crazy for work so I'm not sure when I will be able to skate on them. But that's okay because the work is what pays for the skates.

My shop also baked them with the inserts in. Does that mean that they are useless? Or just that they are not going to be as responsive as they could have been?

Boy I'm dying to try these things!

Yes I did drop the dough for them. Worked my butt off to make enough money to buy them on my own. Being a poor junior hockey player, it took a long time to make the money, had to cut back on just about everything.

I baked mine without the inserts in so im not sure what the deal is on that.

Got mine Thursday.

DON'T BAKE WITH THE INSERTS!!!!!! You don't want them molded to into a fitted tongue, you want them flat so they are more responsive.

I'm really curious as to how I'm going to figure what insert is best (and also what other people are using). I'll start it off and hopefully some other guys can follow.

Position: D

Height: 6'2''

Weight: 185

insert: stiff felt great and responsive but and going to try the x stiffs soon hopefully. Not sure if I'll want to in a playoff game but tomorrow wouldn't hurt.

Not to muddy up this topic but has anyone bought the one100's?

I am still waiting for my LHS to call me so I can go and pick up some TotalOne's for me and one100's for my daughter. Curious if anyone has used the one100's?

I saw the ONE100s at my LHS. I don't think anyone has bought one - kinda hard when you still have ONE95s on the wall on closeout, and at least 10 pr left.

Can't justify spending $800 on new skates right now. Will stick with my X60s for a bit. Would love to skate in a pair to see how they feel on the ice.

the one100's (aside from the tongue) are identical. I'm actually looking at a pair right now, and with both in my hands I might suggest just getting the one95's on closeout.

I'd recommend one95s on closeout as well, however, only weird sizes are left anymore. Kinda like 40s.

And if you have a popular size foor (basically 7-10) i would highly recommend getting your TOs sometime before August, or your going to have a harder time finding them. I wont be surprised if everyone is sold out of sizes 6.5-11 come christmas since we can't reorder.

That's not Bauer's fault however; the smart buyer would have been sold out/dumped off their ONE95 stock by now.

I'm not throwing out any fault, although I do agree that most stores would have been smart to dump/sell their stock. Both are still great skates though

I thought you ran your store?

Either way I'm pretty sure JR was just saying that in general if a store was smart they wouldn't still have one95 stock left over.

No i know, i was just attempting to give him spit b/c i thought he ran his store. Any shop that was normal sized or small should have got rid of their one95s ideally a month-two months ago.

Yah. I going by there tomorrow to get the heel lifts put in so I'll be sure to let them know.

For those who are trying out heel lifts, are your skates profiled/contoured forward already? or what are your skates profiled to if they are?

just wondering

thx

Just to be clear, I am getting Total One's for me. I already have new one95's (bought them in February).

The one100's are for my daughter. I could get her one95's but I prefer to buy the newest thing out on the market no matter how financially irresponsible it is.

I was hoping I would be getting the call that the new Bauer's are in at my LHS because I want to get rid of this money in my wallet and get the new skates!
