RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 My GF and I did our Christmas tonight. Probably the only chance we'll get to be alone. She said there are a few things from her family to open Christmas Day...but the highlight tonight was the DVD Boxed set of the 10 Greatest Habs games of all time. She also surprised me with the clock I had been looking at for my living room. Then we made Chicken Parm for dinner and watched "It's A Wonderful Life". I'm not ashamed to say the end of that movie makes me cry every time.I'd say a damn good kickoff to the holidays.

Leafsrule16 5 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 As much as I hate getting gifts from girlfriends (well at this age, when there making minimum wage and working hard to get me something), She brought me a large cheese stuffed crust pizza, a card and a couple dvd's. My parents had the windows of my car professionally tinted, i picked up 2 mufflers for it (which are already installed), picked up some hockey sticks. Christmas was actually something so special when I was little, as an only child i got all this attention and presents, now it feels so different.
JoeyJ0506 192 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 Christmas was actually something so special when I was little, as an only child i got all this attention and presents, now it feels so different. It's because when you get older you start to realize that the Holidays are a boat load of work and stress for adults. For me there's food to cook, presents to buy, presents to wrap, places to drive to, family to entertain. When you're a kid all you do is receive the benefits of the hard work of everyone around you... The Christmas season is a burden on a vast amount of people...But, after that little bit of depression; I'll update tomorrow evening or Saturday with whatever goodies come my way. And on top of all that, when you get older, you're not sure what to ask for anymore. You don't want to ask for a lot, and you don't want anything extremely expensive. there's a lot more thought process going into Christmas at an older age. adam14 182 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 That's true Ebondo, Im not extremely old yet, at 18, but everytime somebody would as me what I wanted for christmas, my answer would be "I actually have no idea."
EBondo 233 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 I had a very hard time thinking of what I wanted this year. I'm 19 years old - and I'm pretty sure the most exciting thing on my list is a Bobby Ryan jersey.
Gummer12 134 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 Just ask for socks n underwear. That way you're bound to get what you asked for, and if you get something more, it's a bonus.

Chadd 916 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 Well I know I'm getting a spring break trip to Spain paid for and I assumed that was it, but apparently not as my mom got mad at me for not giving her ideas :)I got tired of the constant questions from my mother and now I just tell her "hookers and blow". For some reason she doesn't ask much anymore.

EBondo 233 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 Well, just got done with my family. Got everything I asked for, and then a huge surprise at the end. What I reeled in:Bobby Ryan jersey, boxers, pajama pants, flannel shirt, Monster Energy shirt, a Lil Wayne shirt, a Drake shirt, some posters (Lil Wayne, Bob Marley quote, Alexander Ovechkin), screen protectors and case for my Droid, my radar scanner so now I can speed without being paranoid ^_^ .The surprise:February 7, 2010, my family is taking a cruise out of Baltimore, down to Florida, and over to the Bahamas for a week. I missed the Bahamas so much and I can't wait to go back. All-in-all, a great Christmas indeed.

She said "It's bad luck not to put money in a wallet" so I checked the credit card slots. Everyone laughed. I had never heard it before...but I always remembered that. noodle3872 40 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 I've only had Christmas with my girlfriend's family but I got some damn good gifts considering I wasn't expecting anything. I got a red 2010 Olympic hockey jersey, Starbucks gift card, golf magazines and hockey themed asswipe. Nikki (my girlfriend) and I have dinner at my family's house with presents to follow so my list should grow a little (I hope!).

Nikki (my girlfriend) and I have dinner at my family's house with presents to follow so my list should grow a little (I hope!).Um...what? Anyway, I gave myself a gift for christmas, an AK27 shaft and blade combo, and then my dad surprised me with a bag of about ten rolls of hockey tape, which I was surprised and pleased with. Plus my mom got me a good set of pots and pans, which is a godsend. Kind of disapointed though, as this is the first time in my 21 years that my mom didn't buy me Boxers or socks. :P
sickwilly 37 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 The best gift that I got was my mom agreeing to take care of our two kids (both still in diapers) while my wife and I go to Montreal to see Alice in Chains.
SouthpawTRK 1 Report post Posted December 25, 2009 Definitely got some really cool things for Christmas; Slapshot DVD, Sharks hoodie, Sharks logo puck display case, Borders gift card, art pens and some greenbacks! However, I was really stoked to be with family and to see the looks on their faces when they opened up their gifts.
