Hockey Monkey Dolo DD

Recommended Posts

I think he meant a pro stock Dolomite.. In which case the curve might be slightly different.

Really you mean like this one.....

I've seen these sticks in person............the curve would look like the one I picture I posted if he ordered a "pro stock" dolo with a kovalev curve. I held up a retail mac daddy next with a kovalev curve next to it.

has anyone order kovalev dolomites from hockeymonkey?? how were the curves?

I got the HD Kovalev prostock about a week ago, love the thing... here's a shot of the curve:

looks pretty spot on to the retail one, i love it.

There's a new batch of pro stock DDs on HM. I'm confused are these pro stocks curves, modified stock curves or did HM just picked random names from NHL because I can't imagine a veteran player having 3 sets of curves types: 1 extreme heel, 1 mid and 1 toe just for one season. Or maybe I'm wrong. If they are prostocks indeed do I have a shot on est. 85 flex lefty (they didn't list flexes and it doesn't say which ones are grip either).

Curves:

Edit: I just realized it's "Lindstrom" not "lidstrom". I still find it weird though

The Lindstrom 3 and Modano 3 need to be flipped, and then at least one of the patterns would actually resemble a pro pattern...

Exactly, Lindstrom 3 (despite the tiny picture) looks to be pretty close to the Modo pro.

Except the blade length would be quite off..

Frankly, I don't even know how to bite that... Last year, I bought pro stock marked h-11/Lisn from them. I knew the curve and they listed flex# as well so I didn't care about not knowing the guy. Then I got it and label read "Lisin" and I was like ahh..ok I prolly could have guessed that. Now with the information provided, or lack of it, there's too much gambling whether it's Joakim, or they messed up Nick's last name or it's actually minor league youngster etc. HM customer's service knows nothing, of course. They could at least put "it feels like xxx" like they do it on prostockhockeygear if the flex isn't marked.

Btw:

Serously, who has enough experience to judge that?

"Nah, it's not 130. It's actually 140.. "

Not really. It'd be closer to his newest curve, which is both longer and taller. His older ones would definitely be shorter than those pictures, though.

I used someone at a pick up about a month ago and it felt really similar to retail as well. The balance wasn't as good as I'd hoped but seemed good for the price.

Legit what? The guy's name is Joakim Lindstrom. Sure, people and sites have misspelled Lidstrom for ages but no pro curve of his I've seen has come close to those pictured.

Not any of the recent curves I have seen either, although Lindstrom 3 does look a bit like the one from patterndb.

If only Lidstrom wasn't using Warrior's sticks.. but not only he does he's also Warrior's "Players club" main figure and HM claims these sticks are "Players club series"...

I can't remember, Is Lidstrom still using 100 flex? Anyone knows what flex is Joakim using?

Anybody here purchased a Vanek pro pattern before? I like the look of the curve (specifically the Vanek 2), but my attempts to ask Monkey what the lie and flex were came out with no useful info. I'm interested, but I won't buy if it's not a usable lie or flex for me.

If you go to patterndb.org and type "vanek" in search you'll get 5 pics of vanek pro stocks. The two most recent pics are provided with codes "220-310-135" and "220-310-130" first number is flex (warrior scale, look it up in the "flex chart" - toolbox at the top the page). I can't tell you the lie exactly, however you can estimate it based on HM's curve chart. I'd say both vanek1 and 2 lay in 5-5.5ish range although I'm not taking rocker curve into consideration, hence it's not how warrior measures it but IMHO Easton's lie scale is easier to comprehend.

I saw that later after I posted. Way too stiff for me. That's probably for the best though.
