The press conference was postponed indefinitely due to the shootings in St. Petersburg. This is what the assembled media was told, as the team didn't believe that their agenda shoul have any spotlight with the tragedy that unfolded just across the bay. Classy move in my opinion. Koules (old ownership) would have been pissed the shooting stole the spotlight.

There was another major problem that made them postpone; come to your own conclusion. I'm not shocked...

Since the stated reason for the cancellation on the website and to the media WAS that is was out of respect for the police shootings, why even bother with your late posting to "correct" this information? Why say that wasn't the true reason if you're not going to bother to tell everyone what it was?

It reeks of saying "I've got a secret and I'm not telling you, nah nah na-nah-nah!" Why even bring it up?

I imagine now that tidbits of info about the new jerseys are being leaked the team is feel in a backlash from the public. Maybe the team is rethinking their idea? If the colors are going to be just blue and white, I think that will be a collosal step backwards for TBL.

It is silly to assume that they would cancel an entire day of events 4 hours before hand due to some sort of pre-existing issue as you are intimating.

And maybe they havent had the PC yet because today was the viewing of the dead cops and tomorrow is the funeral.

I feel this has more to do with some production issue than any thing with the police shooting. Even it were the case, delaying it a week makes no sense.

Still, id like to hear what it was rather than some vague hint.

Let's say he was right, why would they wait till the morning of, after the press are already there? I'm not questioning his job or reputation- I'm just saying that the Lightning canceled their Press Conference due to the killing of two cops, not due to (the rumor of) some sort of issue with what they may have been announcing.

It's disrespectful towards the organization to say that they used the killing of two police officers as an excuse to cover a mistake. That's a major claim, and I want to make sure Marcelo is sure of what he is saying.
