Of course it wasntg a blow by blow account, and 20 guys on me? There was a benchfull of people there, I will get a count next time tho. The thing you are missing is, I didnt break a stick over his head, the stick was already cracked, and it was hanging onto the shaft, im sure you know what I mean, and then I cracked it over his head. I know I deserved a suspension, I never said I shouldnt have.

No seriously, when I played competetively, I could agitate with the best of them, but knew when to draw the line... stick swinging.

It is fun to have done such a great job of chirpping and hitting to the point where you have entire teams waiting for you by your bus at the end of the game, but you can't deliberately swing a stick at someone... you'd have been better off ripping off the doucebag's helmet/cage and giving him a first-class, old-school ass whoopin'...

Breaking your stick was pretty cheap, but hitting that kid over the head was worse. I know in a brawl with both teams on the ice crazy shit can happened, your looking to beat some ass, while not getting jumped from behind, but you gotta drop the stick. Either drop the gloves or skate away or tie somebody up. As a coach of kids about your age I have had guys get suspended for more games for far less. Consider your self lucky. We also now have all our home games on tape, as a lot of other teams do, so stuff like that would be up for review by the league for further suspension.

Skylands Rink runs a shady operation...I live like 10 minutes from it when I'm not at school and reffed a few games there last year. They never even paid me for like 3 games and I kept bugging them about it, but I eventually just forgot about it...sucks though. The guy who did the ref scheduling is nice there but I don't think he has many good officials to work with in that area...you should've seen the men's league games I played in over the summer there...a complete joke. I've had nothing but problems with this place, it's run horribly and the people are just in it to make a quick buck.
