Would anyone mind ID'ing these products? I don't think I've seen either before.

The sales guy said Timonen's runners were called something with an "N". Maybe Nitinol? I forget.

Simmond's holders were cool. You can change the runners in seconds. They have switch/button that releases the runner w/o using a tool. Someone on here (MSH) mentioned it somewhere in this thread.

Hm, thanks. I did see the holders mentioned, but I can't seem to find a name for them.

Simmond's are the quick change holders that where invented by the hurricanes equipment manager. They are offered by Pro balance, pretty cool set-up, one lever flips and blade pops out. bunch of carolina and charlotte players using them this season

Someone else invented them, it wasn't Wally.

It looks like Simmonds mounts his holders forward (like Lafontaine used to). Unless I'm misinterpreting the boot heel / back of the holder in that picture.

My bad. Just going by what equipment guy in Charlotte told me. Didn't mean to mislead anyone

Wally likes to tell everyone he invented everything.

FATPHILLY has Rinaldo's APX's. They had an extra upper layer on the back part of the Tuuk holder for a more aggressive stance. FAT, take a pic of what I'm talking about.

That would be a heel lift.

That picture of Simmonds' skates does look like he's skating with short holders.

To me they look like the TotalOnes he's been wearing for a while, just all blacked out now.

Brown's are just regular TO, but I've been meaning to ask as someone here might know...Brown, Ryder, and Horton all have blacked out TO's...does Bauer make them specially at their request or are they doing it themselves once they receive the skates? Last season for example Brown just sharpied or spraypainted over the gold highlight on the back of the skate and the rest of the boot looked like a normal TO, but this season they are completely black with out the normal detailing on them.

Bench shot for San Jose showed Marleau, and his stick certainly looked like it had the dagger taper, plus the W logo right at the heel which suggests he might be using a widow or diablo, which means he's no longer using his typical two piece, wood blade set up. Curious.

Still using 2 piece, Warrior puts the "W" on the bottom of their blades anyway.

As iBeck mentioned, its still a two peice...

Also not sure that Marleau uses wood blades... I get the two mixed up, but I believe either Marleau or Thornton are using composite blades. Still two peice, but all composite. One of them uses wood and the other composite. Hard to tell since they both paint them black.

I can't remember if he switched but Marleau had Warrior wood blades when they got him from Easton.

Keith can answer that question better than I can.

Composite blade Standard 2pc. connection
